Maninka fruit

The Maninka fruit is the fruit of the so-called fried egg tree or snuffbox tree (Oncoba spinosa). The name of the tree derives either from the appearance of the flowers (like a fried egg) or of the purpose of use of the fruits (including processing to snuffboxes). The name Maninka probably comes from the ethnic group of the same name which is based in different countries in West Africa and who use these fruits economically.
