A Skillful Blend of Green Mango, Soap, and Shoe Polish
Banana Republic MALACHITE is a very unexpected creation--in some ways. Let's think about the typical Banana Republic customer: khakis and oxford shirts or crewneck sweaters, with an optional suit jacket for meetings, and nice leather loafers, which make it easy to dash out for Starbucks breaks without skipping a beat, Blackberry in hand. Likes to travel abroad and expects to retire early in the Caribbean, provided that the needed funds have been accumulated to lead the life to which s/he has every intention of being accustomed by that time.
What kind of perfumes would such a person wear? I think that MALACHITE would work quite well and was probably commissioned to fit perfectly with the company's typical clientele. Green mango, soap, and shoe polish waft through this composition in waves of varying proportions and strengths depending upon the day, the weather, and the wearer's mental state. A very fickle fragrance with enough eccentricity to be unique, while still bearing the yuppie mantel. I think that this creation is a success. Does anything else smell like MALACHITE? No. Does it smell good? Well, sometimes, yes, it does!
I love the presentation, see HRH Emperor Oliver, below, who should be receiving a pitch from Banana Republic soon--if they have any sense at all! (Wouldn't he look great in khakis?)
