Christmas is starting to come back to you, actually...
Hi folks, I'm back and as always I have a new fragrance description with me. I recently tested a fragrance that should be more familiar and is absolutely no surprise to anyone per se, especially as it comes from a mainstream brand, but which may be a little underestimated because they already have some really nice fragrances, namely Burberry. I have now tried the fragrance "Brit Red", which has been discontinued in the meantime, but is still available in some online shops, if you are lucky. Of course it is a bit more expensive than back then, because the fragrance was limited anyway.

So, I hope you're still reading, as it's not a fragrance you might have expected with great interest, but hey, it doesn't always have to be a niche fragrance or brands like Chanel and Dior, give it all a chance, yeah! You can always find pearls, no matter what brand. It's just like with you ladies. Most of them are vicious creatures, but I think if you look hard enough, then every now and then, with a lot of luck, you'll find some love among them, maybe even among you perfumas, I think, because I haven't found "something like that" yet :DD

Well, let's get to the scent first :)

The smell:
The fragrance begins with a nice, warm jasmine note and is therefore flowery-sweet. Rhubarb is the second fragrance you notice here, it smells authentic and therefore also very beautiful. It is a fragrance that is not often used and thus provides a nice, sour-fresh change every now and then. Unfortunately, her charisma is not so high here, so that the sweetish notes are soon more in the foreground again.
After the tart rhubarb has disappeared, the fragrance becomes a little more sweet. Gingerbread is actually a fragrance that can be perceived, although I must admit that I would not have thought of it if I hadn't seen it in the fragrance list here. Ginger gets through a little bit, otherwise you smell, of course how could it be otherwise, a lot of vanilla, which is nice as always with the typical, powdery, pleasant touch of this fragrance. And the benzoin resin makes the fragrance even more sweet and gentle.
And so the fragrance then also remains until the end and, you can already imagine it, therefore always smells wonderful.

The Sillage and the durability:
The Sillage is okay, it smells good for a while, then it gets weaker, but still not as fast body near, so as I said before everything is okay. The shelf life is good, which is probably, as always, mainly due to the vanilla. So you can smell the fragrance still after more than ten hours on the skin
The bottle! The bottle is rectangular and patterned in the typical Burberry style, with a check pattern, where white lines appear on a red bottle. It looks quite nice, although it looks a bit simpler. With a fabric cover like the one used for London for Women, for example, it would have been much nicer. Still, the whole thing is nice.

Conclusion:
Soo, so that was Brit Red, and I thought he was quite wonderful. Even if it seems to be fresher at the beginning, or at least smells like an all-rounder, it soon becomes a true autumn and winter scent, which is mainly due to its gingerbread scents.

If you like such sweet scents that go in a gourmand direction, Brit Red should definitely have tried them. It lies very pleasantly in the nose and pleases one when the scent rises nicely every now and then. As mentioned before, it reminds us of Christmas, which is a great time, even if the joy of it is reduced by the corona virus this year, both because the Christmas markets are cancelled, but of course especially because many more people are getting sick now (I hope that most of them get well again...)
... all the more annoying when some people simply don't want to see this and continue to celebrate in a completely selfish and lively way and then protest against Corona restrictions in masses (!) and thereby contribute considerably to the spread of the virus, thank you very much... bah... wouldn't it be great if all these irresponsible egoists had to give the responsible people a scent as a punishment to compensate for this? He he he :DD

Anyway, back to beautiful things: This scent here is really recommendable and so it's quite a pity that it was discontinued. Anyway, it is perfect for autumn and winter, especially for going out and things like that. If you ever see it, feel free to test it.

Hm, and I'm getting a craving for gingerbread... at least now is the time, so you can find those things everywhere again. What would have annoyed me, if it was spring or summer and I was in the mood for gingerbread because of the smell :D

All right, that's it from me again. Please take care of each other and stay healthy! See you next time and have a nice evening :)

Gingerbread in early summer?
A fragrance full of contrasts! At least that's what I thought with the pyramid and the comments...

At the beginning there is a well recognizable, sour, pleasant rhubarb note. If you like perfumes like "Aedes de Venustas", "Ciel mon Jardin" or the rhubarb scent of Hermes, you will also be happy here!
For me, rhubarb fragrances belong personally to the period from April to June. You might find it silly - but I prefer to use perfumes with a certain dominant floral or fruity note during the flowering or ripening period of the corresponding flower/fruit (exception: rose fragrances all year round). My own preference...
Later, the fragrance becomes sweeter, slightly spicy, and goes quite in the gourmand direction. But the announced gingerbreads don't show up so clearly on my skin. Too bad, actually, because I like the smell of the typical gingerbread spices very much. In "Delice d'Epices" (Ricci), "Dark Sapphire" (Joop), "Manhattan" (Bond) or even more so in "Un Crime exotique" the gingerbread note is much more pronounced in my opinion.

So for me "Burberry Brit Red" remains a perfume for the transition from spring to early summer, since it's more for evenings.

But maybe the external literature plays a role...I wear it for the first time at the beginning of June (evening), after a mild but not hot day. It may have a completely different effect in hot weather or in autumn/winter.

In any case a beautiful perfume from friends of fruity-spicy gourmands!

Rhubarb pie for Christmas Holidays
I chose to wear Burberry Red for the first time while travelling up north on a Christmas day. The lovely scent of tart rhubarb mixed with the slight tingle of spices filled the car, as we drove through the snow covered winter wonderland woods. My first thought was, ‘rhubarb pie and cranberries in the snow’, to describe the crispy feel of the scent. Half an hour later, I thought, ‘mmmm… rhubarb and vanilla’. Warm, spicy and tart, Burberry Red turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me. I was drawn to an unusual note of rhubarb when I bought it blind, but I was not sure what to expect based on reviews. I enjoyed wearing Burberry Red and I will be wearing it again during the holidays. However, I have to admit that both, my husband and I, got serious rhubarb pie cravings while I was wearing this scent. So be prepared to do some baking.

So what is the recipe for a successful rhubarb scent? I know there are no cranberries listed in the pyramid, but I do smell something in the beginning that reminds me of freshly squeezed sour berries with a citrus zing. The rhubarb is complimented by spices and a gentle rose layer in the background towards the heart notes. Finally the crispness is replaced with a gentle vanilla layer turning the scent into a warm and fluffy rhubarb pie sprinkled with gingerbread spice to add a kick. The scent has pleasant presence – not overpowering, but noticeable. I am also pleased with its lasting power for at least of 8 hours. I would like to give Burberry points for creating a scent with an unusual leading note and making it successful.

I think the charming ambience of this scent and the festive bottle with red plaid motif fit the holiday spirit like a glove. I was looking for something unusual and interesting to wear on Christmas day and Burberry Red fit the bill. Overall score 7/10.

Deliciously spicy rhubarb
So, so very beautiful. A sweet and mildly spicy vanilla fragrance which has all the class and sophistication of a true Burberry perfume.

While most of Burberry's fragrances are casual and Summery, Brit Red I would dare to wear to any formal event. I believe that I could never tire of this exquisite fragrance.

Brit Red is warm and comforting while at the same time it's incredibly sexy. It has all the appeal of a floral-scented perfume, yet the spicy kick from the rhubarb, ginger and patchouli makes this fragrance so different and so appealing.

For the life of me I cannot understand why they are discontinuing this fragrance. I test many scents, yet it has been quite a while since a fragrance of this kind has grabbed my attention. I do hope to purchase this fragrance so that I can wear it during Winter next year.

I must add that the lasting strength is amazing, lasted on my skin the whole day. The sillage is also good, not overpowering but heavy enough to leave a light trail. I cannot wait to get my hands on a bottle.

In the mood... for Baking!
Ginger, vanilla, and... rhubarb! An unlikely combination even in the kitchen, but in a perfume?

In fact, BURBERRY BRIT RED, against all expections (which were perhaps admittedly low...) smells quite nice to me. As its bright red plaid bottle boldly proclaims, this is a holiday scent: to be worn at most twice each year, on Christmas Eve and, perhaps, again on Christmas morning! Not to welcome Jesus Christ, mind you, but oh-so-secular Santa Claus.

This is a likeable fragrance to anyone who likes sweetness in moderation, at least when it comes to wearing it on their skin... And I do appreciate the novelty of this scent, now and then. To be precise: twice each year!

A good perfume to put you in the mood for...
baking!

I still see Red on Ebay very reasonably priced.....but Gold, which I love the most is getting ridiculously overpriced
