Great refreshment of a beautiful fragrance
Even if Bvlgari gets away here rather moderately: One of my favourite brands. So far I have never tested one of this house that I did not like. My favourite is of course the Aqva series, but the Bvlgari-Man series is also a great series. I got the original Man first and then the father of the sub-series Man in Black. Due to the great success there are several flankers of this sub-series. So far I have only tested this cologne, which I really liked and I finally bought it a few days ago. In the Internet not so easy to find, because it is often out of print or maybe even discontinued. Fortunately I found a copy for 50 Euro/100ml.
Before it goes to this Flanker a few words about the Man in Black: It is a fragrance that is an enrichment for the collection. Similar to this Flanker a fragrance with strong boozy rum note and very masculine yet sensual with gentle nuances. For the evening on colder days a super fragrance.
Now to the Black Cologne: This is clearly a refreshment without too much change as with many other well-known Summer/Sport/Cologne/Fresh/Aqua flankers. The DNA of the original is always present and the fragrance is very much based on it. I like such refreshments of heavier scents, because you get a unique scent for warmer days. Here Alberto Morillas has thrown a great lighter variant on the market. Predestined for mild and warm days, but also for people who like to wear fresher fragrances. When you think of Cologne, you usually think of totally light fresh citric fragrances. That's not the case here. Nevertheless this is to be carried well with temperatures up to approx. 25 degrees. Thanks to the boozy note also very good for summer evenings or nights.
As a brief description of the fragrance, one can say here that one gets boozy rum here, refreshed with citric and slightly floral notes. As I said: Very close to the original, here more gentle. This freshness chosen here fits perfectly to the Man-In-Black-DNA. Where the original is very masculine, the creation is much softer and less conspicuous. Nevertheless he convinces with a lot of uniqueness. Also the Dry-Down is very good with lots of sandalwood. Also a pleasant not too sticky sweetness is active. All in all a very round and pleasant composition for me.
Performance is similar to the original: No Champions League but convincing, especially for a Cologne concept. He definitely lasts a few hours and that with good Sillage.
For me the best in the Man series so far. Especially since it can be used in many ways thanks to its freshness. Also in everyday life despite the rum note. If you like the original, you should test it as well. A great choice especially for summer evenings.
