Number 655 from 1872 / A little story / Is it worth its (absurd) price?
Hello everyone,

today I would like to say something about 1872 Mandarin !

I have known you since 2017 and at that time I only smelled you in passing (at a buddy's house) and the top note (the first 10 min) was very nice and no question, but it was nothing that knocked me off my feet, but 30 min, when the fruity - citric notes sink a bit, then the real magic of the fragrance happens for me.

The 1872 Tarocco Orange then goes in a slightly floral (unisex with a tendency in the feminine direction), the 1872 Mandarin goes in the unisex - masculine direction (= for enlightenment). And masculine fragrance notes such as lavender, lily of the valley and co. take over, whereby the mandarin and tangerine are still noticeably present... and after 4h or 5h we enter the drydown phase and it unfolds even more of what I LOVE!

The mix of cedarwood + the (here) dry vetiver with a very very subtle amount of saffron (very good finish) and the mix of patchouli + oakmoss give a green and "cooling and refreshing touch" and that in combination with the cedarwood + vetiver = WOW!

The amber adds the rough mystical note.

I love this (hard!) and did x years ago and do so today. I finally have a bottle of 1872 Mandarin and I won't give it away again - safe!
This brings me to our little story!

I've had quite a few samples over the last few years - maybe 4 or 5 2ml samples and I've taken care of them and really looked after them (location, temperature) and only used them very sparingly and was very selective about when I took/used them. Because I just knew that if it ran out I would have a big problem... + those were slowly running out...

Why?

For one thing, it is strictly limited and therefore very difficult to get hold of, getting a sample is like winning the lottery and getting a bottle today (in the box) that is almost full and not tipped is almost impossible...

I was lucky enough to get one - a bottle, I was able to exchange one, but it was worth it to me, but if I made a bit of a mess in terms of price - all cool.

I knew under "normal" aspects I (as a CC lover) would probably never get one.

How does it arrive:

Insanely good!
When can you wear it (season + occasion):

If you have the right purse - always and absolutely in every respect. Nobody will be bothered by it and the wearer will feel "special" with it.

Why?

You are the only one who wears and has it and I go so far and probably your city and possibly also in your federal state that have a BENEFIT (not collect). In that respect, I almost see it as an "I have money statement".

But I see the advantages (season) more in the areas from April to the end of May, summer evenings and in the beginning of fall (September and early October). You can of course also wear it daily ;)
(would not be mine, but would also have something) !

About the price and is the fragrance worth the price....?

It's really hard for me to say "yes man" or "100% no", because yes (!) it's already a hit (and now an important point), you can already notice the fine tuning, the high-quality aspect and you can already tell that it's the same with (most!) fragrances from the house - oh come on, we'll give you something better/more expensive...

Many houses in the niche sector, such as MFK, work primarily on a purely synthetic basis, but here you notice a certain difference in quality!!!!

My conclusion on the subject of price, purchase and recommendation ..., IF you find a remaining bottle, take it and if possible do NOT pay the current collector's price (!) then I recommend certain fragrances of the house, such as this one!
The fragrances from the house that is not one of them are usually not performance monsters,
those are characterized by a noticeable and very neat composition,
Tuning, choice of oils etc. and for me this is worth far more than a 16h
Performance with a synthetic monster = personal opinion!
And that brings me to the performance:

The 1872 Mandarin gets a 7 - 8 from me and in my opinion this is ok, it is a fruity, green - woody high-end fragrance and not a 20h rose - oud firecracker..., would I take more performance? Sure and gladly, but a higher % number of fragrance oils/concentration, for example, very often has a negative effect on the fragrance, so good work!
If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny
_______

(Now the same as almost always - because it's true!)

Now on the subject of luxury:

As you can see in my profile, among other things, I have really smelled many fragrances and there are fragrances where you smell a certain (partly) strong synthetic and you notice quite quickly that some fragrance houses go for quantity rather than quality and there are some where you just realize "oh come on, let's put more + better in" and you can smell this at the end of the day.

Very briefly on the subject of OVP, bottle, sprayer:

I'll make it short, I give it a 10 out of 10 in each category and I know very well that tastes are very different. So if you honestly rate this with a 7 or less... - PUH. Beautiful and very valuable lid, beautiful timeless flacon design etc. .... so I find it very difficult to rate it differently and I'm not saying this because I like a brand or not!
Now a quick word on the subject of my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receive money or anything else. I approach the subject of parfumo as I am, honestly, everything else is not mine. My real personal opinion is worth a lot to me and maybe I hope ;) that you notice that. If I don't like something, e.g. OVP, bottle, sprayer or H/S, then I communicate this too!
