In love with shock!

Received a fragrance sample a few years ago that had been lying around for a long time. Then sprayed it on a few times 2-3 years ago until it was empty - amazing scent! But then didn't like it at all in the perfumery and thought okay, obviously mistaken. A few days ago, after a more intensive shopping trip (Terre, DHI, Allure Homme, Scandal, Sun, CDNIM), I found the old sample and sprayed the last of it on my hand and it was absolutely amazing with the immediate thought "I have to have THAT!". I took a closer look at the fragrance sample and it said "Eau de Nuit Oud" and that made it clear why I didn't like the fragrance in the perfumery at the time, I had tried the conventional Eau de Nuit.

Now it was very difficult to get the perfume at a reasonable price, some people want to get rich, for example on Ebay and also here in Soak. Fortunately, a few days ago I was able to pick up nine mini bottles of 7ml each on Ebay at a good price :-)
The fragrance itself is simply brilliant, just the right mix of sweetness and grown-up, masculine seriousness and therefore even more rounded than the equally great Versace Oud Noir. If I can find a remaining stock somewhere at a fair price, I'll buy it immediately!

Caressing masculine

First of all you can perceive an intense and strong aromatic, slightly sweet and spicy note, which brings a beautiful smoothness and is due to the cardamom.

At the same time, the cardamom is wrapped in an invigorating note, which gives the cardamom a fine upbeat undertone and ensures that it does not appear too sweet and always smells for me something of very subtle jasmine-like black pepper and I have found out over time that I perceive the pink pepper so.

In the background a fine citric, very delicate herbaceous shade provides a pleasant aura, which is responsible for the fact that the top note receives a fine refreshing aspect and comes from the bergamot
A little bit later the very discreet hunch, which is already noticeable at the beginning, unfolded completely.

A beautiful pure, but by no means soapy, creamy powdery, slightly buttery note is now perceptible, which also brings with it a wonderful, almost fragile flowery tone and appears wonderfully voluminous and can only be the iris concrete
The Iris - Concrete is accompanied by a beautiful sweetish, almost fleshy flowery note, which is responsible for the fact that the fragrance, despite its flowery accents, has an astonishingly masculine effect and that I actually suspected tuberose here, instead of rose geranium and rose, but for me when reading the fragrance pyramid makes sense that the interplay of rose geranium and rose as tuberose can or could be perceived
Already in the heart note something very subliminal sweetly woody can be perceived, which is fully revealed in very minimal, almost creeping features in the base.

In the last 3.5 hours the fine sweet woody note has unfolded completely and seems incredibly interesting, because it is accompanied at the same time by a beautiful vanilla-like, finely spicy almond cream-like note, which also brings a fine powdery tone and is due to the oud in combination with the tonka bean - Absolue.

Unfortunately, I could not perceive saffron, but I can very well imagine that this nuance was used for complementation.

In total the fragrance lasts 9 hours on my skin.

The Sillage is conceived from the outset in such a way that one is clearly noticed at a whole arm's length and this is maintained also 4 hours in such a way, before it minimizes itself up to the conclusion of the smell in quiet steps.

Oud in the Office

For a long time I have been looking for a portable oud scent for the office. Oud and office does that ever go?

In the office I either wear scents with a maximum of one arm length projection. Or which ones are so pleasing that you can hardly perceive them anymore. Reflection Man or Aventus are good examples.

If Oud's in the game, it'll be interesting for me. Oud is like the salt in the soup. Too much is not good and without it quickly becomes boring. The nose reports "harmless" to the cerebrum and gradually fades out many good fragrances.

Oud is the "hello guard" of the perfume world. It's impossible for my nose to blend out scents with oud. Oud smells like burnt wood. Fire! An alarm signal that activates the mind.

But you don't necessarily want that in the office. The only exception may be trade fairs or negotiations. Here you want to be present all the time. Otherwise rather not.

The Armani Oud scent manages this difficult balancing act. He is present, but not more than an arm's length. Through the iris so noble and pleasing that my brain can switch off from time to time.

The Armani Oud is located somewhere between Tom Fords Oud Wood (cardamom) and Dior Homme (iris). Shelf life is ideal with 6-7 hours on my skin. I don't want to be in the office any longer.

Finally, I can fully recommend this fragrance for the office. Although he has his own character, he is still a team player: a true leader!
