"Loukoumaaadeeesss....
...elate na fate Loukoumaaadesss"...Greece in 1977, 1984, 1992, 2000, 2014...so pretty much no matter when...if you're lying (formerly in the sweltering heat, now greasily creamed under a shade) on a beach in Greece...any beach....sooner or later a super crispy tanned guy comes along with properly muscled legs, a folding stool in one hand and a big rectangular Tupperware in the other hand and sells the hottest donuts on God's earth...well...maybe there are also quite good donuts somewhere else...but THEY are big, fluffy, sweet, vanilla, delicious and taste best if you have been swimming in the sea for a really long time before. When you've eaten them, it's best to jump right back in to wash off the fine sugar they're dusted with and to get rid of half the calories by swimming five kilometres...
As a little girl, three or four years old, I once followed such a guy, because I wanted to know where he always gets his donuts from. I ended up in the bakery at a confectioner and watched fascinated, of course I also got what off, who can resist a red curly little girl in a red bikini again...
Do I need to mention that in the meantime, while I was sitting on a chair behind the bakery and gleefully devoured this huge piece, my parents were looking for me in a panic!!!! Um yeah...today I don't really understand that panic, back then...good thing the donut vendor noticed my slightly hysterical father and told him where he could find me...boy did I get to hear something...never mind...it was worth it *lol*

What the scent has to do with the donut? Absolutely nothing. It just reminds me of Greek beach, sun, shimmering salty air...I smell coconut even though there is none in it. The scent is sweet, but not smotheringly sweet, more of the fluffy kind. The cinnamon and sandalwood make it spicy, the cumin I hardly smell and the flowers are discreetly in the background...this fragrance is simply Nivea, Piz Buin, Hawaiian Tropic together...too bad that it does not last long, but at the price you like to spray every four hours again....

Nix fatal!
I love to test perfumes (ok, I'm not the only one here :) ...) The cheaper the perfumes, the better I can do that without a guilty conscience.
This Sultan here has been such a candidate. Sprayed (in summer) and thought: "Yikes, wow, ok, quite spicy, the good. More for colder days." That's true, too.
And. After the first round of spices, which is strong but also very nice, the florals come slowly, until it really melts away into the most beautiful base.
Personally, I have to get over the middle part a bit (jasmine and ylang-ylang are a bit too pungent for me), but why I'm writing this comment at all is the drydown: after about an hour it becomes soo beautiful, floral-woody, warm. It then reminds me a tiny bit (please don't hit me!) of Gucci Eau de Parfum. Sure, it's not perfect like that one, maybe not as high quality, but it's nice all the same. :)

My old recorder
When I was in primary school, I was allowed to choose a musical instrument that I wanted to learn.
I decided to play the simple recorder and for many years I went to music school twice a week with enthusiasm.
Every time I entered my teacher's room, a sweet woody scent blew towards me and when I started playing and inhaled deeply through my nose, this scent anchored itself in my olfactory cells.

At the beginning I perceive the cedar, which dominates the whole course, even if weakened. With time it develops into a sweet creaminess that is simply cuddly and beautiful.
The scent "Sultane L'eau Fatale" reminds me so much of my music school days, because it smells as sweet and woody as my recorder memory.

Quietly turns the pencil in the sharpener
This cedar-sandel combo has for me the same woodiness as Gloria by Cacharel or just Santal Blush.
The pencil is sharpened with the L'eau Fatale but not really blatant, but only a few turns, so that you can delicately continue hatching. The sharpener bits remain on the tartlet as decoration.
Cupcake? In fact, the sweet creaminess that comes with it already makes it a gourmand frontier, too. If there should be a wood-flower gourmand: this is it.
He is not too oversweet, but already very pleasing and both, wood & creamy sweetness also make that he holds well, with rather moderate sillage.

By the way, you do not need to be afraid of the cumin and the jasmine also not, both are also rather delicate decoration.

Searching and finding
I don't think I'm alone in sometimes looking at my collection and thinking "What else am I missing?"
Or is it?
Gourmands are there, floral-sweet to oudy-spicy, spring to winter is covered, light to caution, otherwise headache... and yet I came to the conclusion: something is missing.
Woody. It should be woody and creamy. Without fruit, without a big floral roundelay. Woody and creamy. Out, out, apples.
So. forum scoured, social media scoured. And for GOD's sake, there are so many fragrances. It was only then that I really realized that again. And they all had something that didn't fit in with what I was looking for.
At some point, I arrived at Sultane L'eau Fatale. The notes, the description - everything sounded exactly as I had imagined the fragrance I was looking for.
Luckily I was able to get hold of it, the package arrived, full of hope and anticipation, the first PFFT arrived on my wrist.
And deep down, I immediately felt pure delight.

It's him.

Relatively present at the start: cumin. It reads funny, but smells great to me. Unusual, yet beautiful. So beautifully unusual and spicy! Unexpected. And it fits perfectly into the fragrance.
What follows is pure wood. Sandalwood and cedar, my favorites with cashmere wood. So? Another direct hit!
I barely notice the ylang-ylang and jasmine (compared to other fragrances where they tend to be the main protagonists), they blend wonderfully into the overall picture and add this sweet undertone.
For me, all the notes are precisely balanced and to the point. None is too strong. None too biting. Everything is round and yes - perfect. Sultane L'eau Fatale is creamy, soft, sweet and woody. Exactly as listed. It reminds me of a rich, full, rich body lotion in one of those round jars in high-quality frosted glass and that beautiful wood.
I was looking for you and finally found you.
