Magnetic Jasmine
Other designers may as well stop trying to perfect putting cocoa in perfumes now that Magnetic Scent has done it in Untitled No 1. We sent all the way to Norway for this darling and it was worth the trouble. After sniffing 51 Jasmine fragrances, this was one of nine I bought (Serge Lutens A La Nuit, Creed’s Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie, Montal’e Jasmin Full, Demeter’s Jasmine, Diptyque’s Olene, Odalisque by Nicolai, La Route d’Emeraude, and Enlevement au Serail by MDCI). As you might guess, Jasmine is my favorite note. What I love about Untitled #1 in particular is how extremely well they did the cocoa. Yes, of course, Jasmine sambac is the star, supported by of all things Absinth oil with its strong herbal notes and the woody/spicy Ginger Lily CO2 extract. That alone tells you this Jasmine is going to be different. But it's what they did with the cocoa that makes it a masterpiece. Without dominating the fragrance, the Cocoa absolut manages to pull all the other notes together into a throne from which the Jasmine reigns. I suggest you set aside some time when you sample this rare beauty because once you sniff it, you won't be able to move your nose away for a while.
