Melody of Fusion
This perfume caught my attention with its appearance, - it looks like a pebble perched on top of another pebble. Such a bottle will surely adorn any perfume cabinet. And of course, its complex, rich fragrance pyramid got me interested in it.

The fusion of many components in Fusion sacrée obscur, sounds very harmonious, like a melody - each note flows smoothly into each other. Its balsamic waves, flowing in the air, seem unattainable and achingly beautiful...
A scattering of spices and caramel-sweet-salty notes with a distinct celery-cardamom aroma make it exceptional and authentic.

I can't say that summer is its best season. In my opinion, it will show itself in all its glory in the fall and winter. I will keep my sharing bottling safe until the time comes. ;)

Fusion Sacree is sublime in character, - celery as a fragrance note should not irritate you! It is by no means commonplace, but... how can I say that here? ...

He is an absolutely unisex fragrance, and is definitely worth testing!

Cuddly vegetables - a short commentary
:D ... no, quite so serious is not meant with the vegetables. However, the celery is the only fragrance that I can actually sniff out, and it holds all the time - with interruptions.

The scent starts off a bit bear-bitingly heavy, but that settles down pretty quickly, and it becomes warm, spicy, and soft, and also sweet, but not too much. Over it floats this celery note, which comes across somehow herbaceous. In between it's sometimes floral - I'm guessing rose, rose geranium is present -, sometimes it's woody - the cedar proves me right here. Otherwise, it is as described further above.

The sillage is rather close to the body, already after quite a short time. The durability, on the other hand, is good. I am now at 8 hours and it still smells from the wrist.

I like "Fusion sacrée obscur" a lot. He fits well in this season, and I classify him as unisex

Massive, engaging, undifferentiated and indefinable.
This time I start directly with the sentence that could represent the conclusion. What was still interesting at the first test and at least triggered a "I have never smelled such a scent" in me, has meanwhile developed in the direction of me that I find the scent as exhausting and annoying.
The fragrance starts powerful, sweet, creamy-powdery. This remains the case throughout the entire, almost non-existent fragrance process. It becomes a bit more bitter and heavier, but remains otherwise rather sweet and engaging.
The main problem for me, however, is the complete lack of differentiation. It smells as if all possible and impossible ingredients have been randomly thrown into one pot. And that's exactly how it smells. More is more here. For me, the fragrance looks like a dense, almost thick cloud of bittersweet creaminess without anything sticking out of the fragrance pyramid or at least flashing up briefly. I really can't smell anything out of this scent at any time. However, complexity does not necessarily have to be a manslaughter argument against a fragrance. Here it is unfortunately so that this mixture does not seem to fit (together) somewhere simply or better said, for my feeling no beautiful or round picture results. After a while I even find him a little uncomfortable. Not from the beginning but always after a certain wearing time.
For me a thoroughly undefinable and undefined fragrance, which comes up with a lot (too much) but shows too little of it.

Melting abnormality
Fusion sacrée obscur begins sweet - fruity woody, aromatic - spicy, but also Mediterranean - herbaceous and subtle citric.

The first thing you can notice is an intense sweet-fruity note, when you actually think you have a freshly cut orange in front of you.

At the same time, the orange is dipped into a slightly woody shade that gives the orange a nice volume and comes from the rum.

These two notes are accompanied by a fine aromatic, slightly spicy nuance, which ensures that the top note acquires a certain softness and comes from the cardamom.

In the background there is a Mediterranean, slightly herbaceous note of lavender, which in my opinion is responsible for the fact that the top note is not sweet - sticky, but rather refreshingly sweet.

And yet there is also a subtle citric, herbaceous aura perceptible, which wonderfully supports the top note and creates a pleasant overall impression and the lemon can be in interaction with the bergamot.

Celery, Neroli and Artemisia were unfortunately not visible to me, but I can very well imagine that they were used as supporting components.

This constellation is visible on my skin for 25 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

Now a nice warm, subtly bitter note is noticeable, which brings a wonderful sweet melting gourmand crema and is due to the coffee.

At the same time, one can perceive a pleasant aromatic, quite discreetly peppery nuance, which melts with the coffee to a whole and gives it a certain substance and comes from the clove.

These two notes are enveloped by an intense floral note, which brings a certain tangible fleshiness and gives the scent something "striking" and stems from tuberose.

In the background a very light crunchy sweet fruit of the pear is perceptible, which sets a wonderful accent, but fits very pleasantly into the composition.

Unfortunately I could not perceive Geranium, but I can very well imagine that it was used as an accompanying component.

The heart note is noticeable 8 hours on my skin before the base asserts itself.

Now a fine sweet and creamy note is to be noticed, which is refined with a fine breath of chocolate and the vanilla in interaction with the benzoin is to be owed.

There is also an aura of liquorice perceptible, which harmonizes surprisingly well with vanilla and benzoin and comes from liquorice.

These 3 notes are accompanied by a creamy, very slightly spicy shade, which provides a pleasant cuddly aura and comes from sandalwood.

And yet there is a very subtle soft woody nuance of cedar, which supports the cuddly aura to a beautiful extent.

A balsamic warming pure note floats around the entire base, which is by no means reminiscent of freshly washed laundry, but rather is responsible for the fact that the base is perceived pleasantly clear and is due to the musk and opoponax.

Amber and caramel were unfortunately not visible to me, but I can very well imagine that they were used as completing components.

Fusion sacrée obscur is a wonderful companion in the spring, autumn and winter months for women and men aged 25 and over who are looking for a striking gourmand, creamy, flowery, slightly sweetish fruity scent
In total, the fragrance lasts 12 hours on my skin.

The Sillage is designed in the first 2 hours in such a way that one is perceived clearly at the 3 meters and then oscillates 3 hours in such a way that one is perceived very clearly at an arm's length, before it is reduced in minimal steps, until the fragrance finally completely fades away.

Caramel, Anise and Celery Seed?....
Fusion Sacre Lui opens with a just noticeable dulled orange note before it quickly transitions to its early heart. The barely detectable dulled orange remains, now joining slightly boozy rum and ground black coffee, all supporting a dominant anise and slightly sweet brown sugary caramel accord. As the fragrance makes its way through the heart accord the anise-laced caramel displays a slightly salty aspect derived from significant use of celery seed rising from the base that hangs around throughout. As the highly linear progression leads to the late dry-down, the rum and coffee grounds disappear and the celery seed recedes, leaving the anise-laced caramel sans its formerly salty undertone to dominate through the finish. Projection is excellent and longevity outstanding at over 15 hours on skin.

Fusion Sacree Lui was a relatively risky blind buy that unfortunately did not payoff. With a nose as skilled as Bertrand Duchaufour's it is near impossible not to have relatively high expectations, but even his vast skill couldn't save this one. The primary two culprits to the composition's ultimate failure lie with its liberal use of anise and celery seed. These two notes just don't mesh well with the caramel, and as the composition is highly linear they hang around for all but the first 30 seconds of the fragrance's amazingly long lifespan. I will give some props to Duchaufour for creating a gourmand that is not particularly sweet, but in this case even that attribute isn't enough. The bottom line is the $125 per 50 ml bottle Fusion Sacre Lui contains super-high quality and concentrated juice that has the performance metrics to match, but it is somewhat unpleasant smelling and highly annoying as time passes, earning a below average 2 to 2.5 stars out of 5. Gourmand fans that particularly enjoy anise may find the composition much more appealing than I, but if an anise gourmand is your thing, vintage Yohji Homme is a better bet for similar money.

Initially fruity-sweet, this slightly boozy Oriental Gourmand, slowly settles to a creamy and spicy resinous-woody base. 100% Unisex!
