The epitome of a fine classic
To this day, Eau de Fleurs by Nina Ricci is THE epitome of classic women's perfumes for me. It has everything an out-of-time fragrance for self-confident ladies needs:
Attractive and distant green coolness at the start. This is followed by an elegant, light floral fragrance that is so balanced and finely interwoven that no soloists come to the fore. A wonderful floral choir brings forth its complex notes in a splendid, but never too loud 'carpet of sound'. And it is a major sound that lets the bearer shine.
The transition to the next 'movement' is almost imperceptible. From far away, it seems, deep and warm bass tones from fine woods approach, in harmony with a particularly soft, almost creamy note, which I cannot identify from the fragrance pyramid. But it is incredibly beguiling - not animalistic, rather aesthetically erotic.
The base notes last me for many wonderful hours.
I experience this fragrance not as a perfume that I wear, but as a part of me. One that I wouldn't want to miss. Oh...
