Nicolaï is one of the few perfume houses still privately owned. Patricia de Nicolaï is the niece of the famous perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain. Growing up in the world of fragrances, she developed into a true artist.
After training as a perfumer, she first worked in an international team on behalf of prestigious houses before founding Les Parfums de Nicolaï with her husband Jean-Louis Michau in 1989.
She is a lover of organic essences as well as exceptional syntheses, and enjoys being free from price and marketing constraints of the fragrance industry. Her creations are characterized by high proportions of pure natural essences, daring combinations and intense concentrations. Her own line started with the now legendary masculine fragrance "New York".
In the room fragrance sector, she is a pioneer in the use of highly concentrated natural essences instead of synthetic fragrances. Her perfume lamps are particularly popular.
