Happy and straightforward classy perfume for the ladies...
Nothing complex or mysterious about this fragrance -- it's simply a lovely combination of the basic chypre oils: bergamot, patchouli, oak moss and labdanum (a little heavy on this one I think) and a few floral tones plus porobably and almost predictably, a dash of vanilla. There is a slight soapiness to the open but it soon settles down. Sillage and longevity are well above average.

Chimere is a warm (almost hot) spicy, tingly treat that is sure to complement a lady's outfit, whether it's preparation for the working day or a smashing night out. Yes, a man could wear this too, but cautiously and not on all occasions I would say.

Mine is the 45ml bottle, totally different from that shown above. A definite winner from Prince Matchabelli.

A Chypre For Sultry Hauntings
What a sexy little chypre-oriental this turned out to be! Chimere takes time to work its magic with the heat of one's body and skin to make a fragrance heat up to its boiling point. The House Of Prince Matchabelli always knew how to make scents that would become popular among the masses and create a solid fan base.
This is a deep, mature vanilla chypre nestled in buttery toast. It's creamy smooth. No sharpness at all. A hint of smokiness defines it to give it a sensuality, a deepness that exudes a boozy richness. From its strong aldehyde top notes, there's a tuberose flavor that is haunting. It's strong. The beginning notes mix with the mosses easily enough to create a chypre that is dark to start but slowly turns and disquiets one as the hours go by.
Seven hours after I applied this cologne, I could still smell the richness of it on my skin. Seven hours. There are EdP's on the market today that I cannot smell after an hour or two. Yet at that point, Chimere had turned into a warm, inviting, rich-bodied scent that still lingered strongly enough. Absolutely beautiful. Perfect in the cooler weather for sultry times or hauntings.
