Hide and seek in the grass

Don't let my statement discourage you - the scent is by no means bad, but it did irritate me quite a bit at first. The name literally conjures up a fluffy cuddly marshmallow fragrance (Guimauve=Marshmallow) and I was curious how that should work -in view of the lush herbaceous-floral-spicy-woody fragrance pyramid.

Well, it didn't work right away. The scent actually starts off green-herbaceous, only then comes the warm sweetness that lingers on the skin for a longer time without any changes. This note is not sticky-penetrating, but inviting and actually reminiscent of a dessert - marshmallow or cotton candy. The woody base notes are, unfortunately, barely perceptible to me.

The scent lasts about 7 hours on my skin, the projection and sillage are moderate. On clothing, the scent lasts much longer and remains pleasant throughout.

So, my verdict turns out mixed - the fragrance has first before me his gourmandigkeit vorborgen and showed me a long herbaceous-spicy tongue, the rogue! His marshmallow heart, however, he has in the right place and therefore donates willingly a few hours of cozy sweet warmth.

80's deodorant

Very rarely does a fragrance make me want to scrub it off. I lasted two hours - then it was unbearable for me. The scent goes in the direction of sweet 80's deodorant. My Melody or Impulse, bad memories. I never smell marshmallow, mint or Nivea at any time.

Of childhood dreams and olfactory Olympiads

This fragrance pyramid from Guimauve reminds me of an Olympics of superheroes, a test of strength at all costs. Every single one of the essences here wants to make it to the top of the world rankings. The fragrances rebel with virtuosity, show off their best qualities and dig deep into their bag of tricks. In fact, this olfactory scale, consisting of a mixture of woods, flowers, fruits and other delicious ingredients, is so colorful that it reminds me of the villa of the same name from Astrid Lindgren's fairy tale. So bright and colorful that I no longer know where my head is. Sweets of all colors and flavors are piled up on the terrace of that Villa Kunterbunt, all competing to shine. The children's hearts beat at the highest frequencies as they frolic on the lawn, with the main character herself setting the tone. This girl is full of unbridled, wild and overwhelming energy and nothing and nobody can put her off her stride. Our Pippi has made it her mission to love everything and everyone and to master every task in life with bravura and passion. Pippi Lotta, the most legendary character of our childhood. How I love all these books and lovingly produced films from the 70s. Pure nostalgia. Even my own children could hardly take their eyes off this fairy tale bursting with positive vibes.

For the first time, bitter almond and crested lavender win the battle for the top spot and remain in first place for a limited time. The former has still managed to enchant me, whereas I like lavender best where it belongs, namely in the vastness of Provence. It takes quite a while for the essences to calm down and then blend into each other in a very pleasant way. At some point, all that remains is a hint of this colorful potpourri, which is delicate, creamy and gourmet. Whether this symbiosis of essences actually manages to conjure up a marshmallow fatamorgana remains to be seen. What is undisputed is that the base leaves behind a creamy, delicate, almost childlike fragrance that I am happy to wear whenever I want to feel protected and transported back to my childhood in order to chase childhood dreams.

The longevity of the Guimauve composition is out of this world. It lingers on the skin for at least 24 hours, so creamy, soft and modest that I am overcome with a sense of humility. And have you seen this bottle? It literally makes me melt away.

A chameleon

Guimauve Reminiscence is a chameleon of a perfume. On paper it smells like baby wipes, quite literally while on skin is a marshmallow heaven in the dry down. This is the type of perfume that needs your body warmth to evolve and develop, and it does, a lot! The scent profile is fairly common and popular nowadays. No layers, no texture

This one felt relentless and exhausting, all heart notes all the way through. I like light perfumes, I like gourmands and absolutely love aromatic notes, but here everything is so smoothly blended that the result is a bit grotesque. It's a sweetish smell that does not suggest any known confection, prickles the nose a bit (the herbs here, although not individually recognisable), and doesn't have a story to tell. I also find it unconvincing as a personal scent. It's a wall of smell without the sparkle of top notes or the depth and intimacy of a base. It's flat, it's dull and tiresome and I don't just mean that it's boring, but that it's the olfactory equivalent of an unwanted song stuck in your head.
