Hello everyone,
today at this late hour I would like to talk about a fragrance that impressed me very much and not only in terms of price... ! Today I'm going to start the review a little differently.
Is it worth the 3000€?
Not even close!
Do you need it?
In relation to the price - NO!
Is it good?
YES - and not just discreetly!
Do you have to test it?
If we are talking about around 1ml for pure testing,
then it wouldn't be money spent "pointlessly".
This fragrance is the benchmark in so many ways,
but if you don't like the scent,
it becomes difficult to really feel a certain love
to really feel it.
(And by the way, you should have a certain affection for the brand...- this would be an advantage)
However, you will never get something like a BUY RECOMMENDATION for the bottle from me, because the common sense of each individual would very quickly say the "hell no"..., you can buy certain things like a kitchen, a living room, a car, or a great vacation (for example) and ..., I only mean = or a fragrance...
If you really have enough money, then you can buy it, but everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's really necessary!
Whether I would get one...?
Thus begins the review!
How do you describe something so complex = very good question!
I'll start a little differently. Almost 2 weeks ago I got a vintage sample from 2013 and I can't say what the current ones are like (unfortunately not), so my words apply to the older versions of the fragrance.
Mine starts quite similar to
Enigma pour Homme Parfum with this light cola note, but only very short and less sweet! Very soon the star emerges - the ambergris, truly one of the best ambergris fragrances on the market and the ambergris plays with x to xx fragrance notes creating chords and facets..., it leaves you salivating!
Ambergris with jasmine, ambergris with oakmoss, ambergris with woods, ambergris with vanilla + tonka bean..., a real experience and the performance is AWESOME! As I said I can't say what the current ones are like, but my "old" one is concentrated, very mature and has a brutal longevity of "easily" 16h and more! The sillage usually gets a little weaker with age, while the longevity increases, but if we're really talking about numbers, then it's easily 3m to 5m in the first 1h, 2h, 3h, after that it's in the steady 1m to 2m range as Hubble / you are surrounded by an aura.
How does it arrive?
To be honest, at first I didn't really care..., I heard my wife say (smelling the sprayer) = it smells old, very old... , my enthusiasm was somewhat dampened, but what happened next = pure magic!
I put it on my skin (2 sprays each on my neck and throat) and she was blown away. Yes, there are some fragrances that she really likes, such as the
Reflection Man +
Reflection 45 ,
Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum , my old
Jubilation XXV Man , my
Nefs , the
Manhattan Eau de Parfum , the
Ishq Special and many others, but suddenly she loved it very very subtle^^...
(There are fragrances that really MUST be tested on the skin, because there is sooooo much different on the skin than on the sprayer or on the test swipe. This is just by the way!)
Now to the question of whether I would buy it...?
Common sense says NO and rightly so, if only because of the price and probably not under normal circumstances. However, I am generally a friend of old batches and those are something completely different from current ones and it doesn't matter whether we are talking about XJ, PDM, Roja, CC, Amouage or whatever brand...
Anyway... short and sweet, if the batch and the price fit = YES!
Why?
The quality is absurd and facets/chords and co. are AWESOME and somehow I fell in love with it....
Briefly about the OVP, the bottle, sprayer, lid and co., I consider anything other than a 9 or 10 to be QUATSCH. As far as the pure quality of the sprayers is concerned, only Chanel and Dior can compete (no XJ, no PDM, no Nishane and certainly not Amouage), if then Clive Christian! Yes, everyone can see and evaluate the lid and the little stones as they wish = it's a matter of taste, but REST is top!
There is an interview with Roja Dove on YouTube where he talks about the gold leaf in the bottle and the VALUE of it (it is or was around 40 pounds) and further = the jasmine oil used alone was expensive..., to what extent this is true, I cannot judge, only one thing to the effect that he will know the components cost and just by the way it looks chic....
It's definitely worth a test!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you are reading this review, LG the Benny
