Like or dislike haute luxe, that's the thing here
Very interesting high-quality scent, he has something very special, do not know how to describe it, a sprayer and you are a small fragrance bomb not over-smellable
Memories and comparisons with Chanel no. 5, with Gold Woman, with Diaghilev are awakened.

Ylang-ylang is always present, intense and unsweet.
One likes HL and becomes easily addicted or not.
In the clothes and in the hair sticks a wonderful warm base, Ylang-Ylang, golden warm and creamy.

But he does have a bit of a granny smell, at least at first.

Please forgive me for this short comment, it was too long for a statement, but I would like to express how I feel about Haute Luxe.

Thanks again for the bottling, I will never afford it

Haute Luxe Triumph
Yes, the price is outrageous - $3,500. Yes, the whole idea is overblown - actual gold flecks, I'm told at the counter. Whether in the bottle or the actual liquid, I didn't get. I wasn't paying attention. My nose had taken over my brain. Today, clearing my desk, I came on the scented paper in its envelope and had to write a review because I'm once again concluding this is the best thing I've ever smelled. By genre it is both a proper chyre (bergamot, labdanum, oakmoss) and a near-proper oriental (bergamot, jasmine, amber, vanilla), missing musk. The chypre element is deepened by addition of the faux oakmoss note now in vogue because of EU regulations (patchouli/vetiver). I mixed both the pure chypre accord and the faux one during my on-going Learning Chypre sniff fest to experience them and what's here is authentic. The spice in Roja is delicious, the cedar entrancing, the florals an olfactory garden of sophistication. It's as if Roja Dove decided to take the best in perfumery and push them beyond magnificence. For 10 years this was Roja Dove's personal perfume. It wasn't on sale. Now you could still say it isn't really on sale. There was only one bottle at Neiman Marcus when I went there a day in advance of his visit. You have to order it online at his site or go to Harrod's in London and there's no guarantee it will be in stock, I hear. Roja perfume (which at the counter they called Haute Luxe) is the best of the best I've smelled in my two years as a perfumista. Wear it and be assured only a handful on the planet will smell as good as you. I didn't love love his other fragrances. Innuendo is my favorite of the women's line. Diaghilev is wonderful among the men's. But as soon as I get an extra $3,500 I don't need for anything else, I'm getting on a plane, flying to London, getting in one of those Hackney cabs and driving straight to Harrod's. They called him Professeur de Parfum during the years he worked at Guerlain. With Haute Luxe, Roja Dove proves he deserves that title.

4/19/16
The 7.5 ml Discovery Atomiser I ordered on the website arrived today and fully justified the price with its great beauty--notes of far greater quality and depth, a composition far more brilliant than any of the hundreds I own. Only two or three stellar vintages (Shalimar extrait, for one) are even close to the same league.

precious spices in Grasse
"Roja", the perfume of the same name by the well-known fragrance creator, is a work of art that deviates from the usual, lovingly and expertly woven from the diverse aromas of spices and resins, which this time only play around a few, but carefully selected floral scents.
The result is a magnificent oriental-style spicy-chypre fragrance that tells me its story.

One of the so-called "pepper sacks", one of the bustling spice and spice merchants in the days of the Hanseatic League or the East India Company, was on his way to a wealthy customer in Grasse with his rich assortment of southern fruits, precious spices, flower bulbs and resins.
At the height of the flower fields, he took one last break and created an intoxicating blend of the most diverse exotic aromas from overseas: peppery ginger roots, cloves, cinnamon and vanilla, both warming and awakening the senses, in a refined and skillful interplay with the numerous flowers of May roses, Grasse jasmine in white-flowering sensuality and harmonizing ylang-ylang:
Already exceptionally beautiful! When this exquisite composition of spices and flowers is enveloped by aromatic smoky veils of precious resins such as benzoin, labdanum (the resin of cistus), dark purple styrax and ambergris, it is complete, in a skillful arrangement with the very present oakmoss, the depth of patchouli and amyris (this time as a fragrant combination between vanilla and benzoin resin replacing the well-known and popular sandalwood oil), a rich and sensual fragrance experience.

Roja Dove once again plays with fragrance notes, weaving opulent carpets of scents from their multitude, which then fulfill dreams on our skin and can even make us fly away if we wish.
Always remaining true to himself in terms of sillage and longevity, he creates colorful and opulently fragrant gems that clearly bear his signature:
Just like "Roja", the magnificent creation to which he gave his name!
All of his fragrances that I have had the pleasure of getting to know so far are not made for purists; they are too rich, too radiant for that: simply too luxurious! For "fragrance magpies" like me, who love everything shiny, his fragrance creatures are a truly voluptuous pleasure in these rather slimmed-down times.

My absolute dream
The fragrance starts extremely powerful and is still clearly perceptible the next day. I perceive clearly ylang-ylang, which is very intense at the beginning, then later creamy almost powdery.
The price is still extreme with numerous discounts and a little patience, but in my view appropriate to this enormous quality. I love the fragrance, but wear it only on very rare occasions. A masterpiece that I have not found in these nuances, this strength and persistence even at Nabeel spirit of Dubai.
From my point of view, the best fragrance of all Roja Dove creations but unfortunately also extremely expensive.

Are you the "GOLDEN BENCHMARK"...? ?
Hello everyone,

today at this late hour I would like to talk about a fragrance that impressed me very much and not only in terms of price... ! Today I'm going to start the review a little differently.

Is it worth the 3000€?
Not even close!

Do you need it?
In relation to the price - NO!
Is it good?
YES - and not just discreetly!
Do you have to test it?
If we are talking about around 1ml for pure testing,
then it wouldn't be money spent "pointlessly".

This fragrance is the benchmark in so many ways,
but if you don't like the scent,
it becomes difficult to really feel a certain love
to really feel it.
(And by the way, you should have a certain affection for the brand...- this would be an advantage)

However, you will never get something like a BUY RECOMMENDATION for the bottle from me, because the common sense of each individual would very quickly say the "hell no"..., you can buy certain things like a kitchen, a living room, a car, or a great vacation (for example) and ..., I only mean = or a fragrance...

If you really have enough money, then you can buy it, but everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's really necessary!
Whether I would get one...?

Thus begins the review!

How do you describe something so complex = very good question!
I'll start a little differently. Almost 2 weeks ago I got a vintage sample from 2013 and I can't say what the current ones are like (unfortunately not), so my words apply to the older versions of the fragrance.

Mine starts quite similar to Enigma pour Homme Parfum with this light cola note, but only very short and less sweet! Very soon the star emerges - the ambergris, truly one of the best ambergris fragrances on the market and the ambergris plays with x to xx fragrance notes creating chords and facets..., it leaves you salivating!
Ambergris with jasmine, ambergris with oakmoss, ambergris with woods, ambergris with vanilla + tonka bean..., a real experience and the performance is AWESOME! As I said I can't say what the current ones are like, but my "old" one is concentrated, very mature and has a brutal longevity of "easily" 16h and more! The sillage usually gets a little weaker with age, while the longevity increases, but if we're really talking about numbers, then it's easily 3m to 5m in the first 1h, 2h, 3h, after that it's in the steady 1m to 2m range as Hubble / you are surrounded by an aura.

How does it arrive?

To be honest, at first I didn't really care..., I heard my wife say (smelling the sprayer) = it smells old, very old... , my enthusiasm was somewhat dampened, but what happened next = pure magic!

I put it on my skin (2 sprays each on my neck and throat) and she was blown away. Yes, there are some fragrances that she really likes, such as the Reflection Man + Reflection 45 , Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum , my old Jubilation XXV Man , my Nefs , the Manhattan Eau de Parfum , the Ishq Special and many others, but suddenly she loved it very very subtle^^...

(There are fragrances that really MUST be tested on the skin, because there is sooooo much different on the skin than on the sprayer or on the test swipe. This is just by the way!)
Now to the question of whether I would buy it...?

Common sense says NO and rightly so, if only because of the price and probably not under normal circumstances. However, I am generally a friend of old batches and those are something completely different from current ones and it doesn't matter whether we are talking about XJ, PDM, Roja, CC, Amouage or whatever brand...

Anyway... short and sweet, if the batch and the price fit = YES!

Why?

The quality is absurd and facets/chords and co. are AWESOME and somehow I fell in love with it....

Briefly about the OVP, the bottle, sprayer, lid and co., I consider anything other than a 9 or 10 to be QUATSCH. As far as the pure quality of the sprayers is concerned, only Chanel and Dior can compete (no XJ, no PDM, no Nishane and certainly not Amouage), if then Clive Christian! Yes, everyone can see and evaluate the lid and the little stones as they wish = it's a matter of taste, but REST is top!
There is an interview with Roja Dove on YouTube where he talks about the gold leaf in the bottle and the VALUE of it (it is or was around 40 pounds) and further = the jasmine oil used alone was expensive..., to what extent this is true, I cannot judge, only one thing to the effect that he will know the components cost and just by the way it looks chic....

It's definitely worth a test!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you are reading this review, LG the Benny
