Umbro

Umbro is a major global fashion brand and sportswear manufacturer in stadiums and sports fields. The label was started as early as 1920 by Harold Humphreys with the help of his brother Wallace and was initially called "Humphrey Brothers Clothing". The name was eventually abbreviated to Umbro four years later.

The brand expanded due to great demand and moved from a warehouse to a whole Umbro factory as early as 1930. Therefore, from 1933, Umbro manufactured rugby outfits and sports jerseys. Simultaneously, British athletes celebrated great successes in the FA Cup dressed in Umbro kit. During the Second World War, Umbro temporarily made uniforms for the Lancaster bombers before returning to its core business in 1946. Other milestones and successes of the Umbro label were the "Umbro Soccer Set" and the outfitting of the English national team, the British & Irish Lions, or the 1970 World Cup. In the 1980s, Umbro was the sports outfitter of England, Scotland, and Wales.

From 1992, the company also successfully developed sports shoes. Some of the most impressive goals (Roberto Carlos in 1997, Michael Owen in 2001) were also attributed to the sports shoes "Specialis" by "Umbro".

After more than a century, it is impossible to imagine an entire fitness industry without Umbro’s high-quality materials, innovative designs, clever marketing, and environmentally friendly production methods.
