I'm an idiot!!! ,-)
*Once again, Parfums de Marly shows everyone how to do it.
You can't get that much creativity under your nose anywhere else!
This combination of an extremely sharp and fresh start, consisting of mint and citric apple notes, which over the course of the day turn into a cozy sweetness of tonka bean and vanilla, once again shows it to everyone.
You start your office day fresh and are wrapped in a beautiful sweetness just in time for work, inviting you to further activities.
The whole in combination with a high-quality bottle and a clean working spray head shows the whole quality of this niche house.*

You have to smell it right!
I was amazed when I first called this fragrance at Parfumo. The overall rating is actually below 7.0! And I'm not sure what that might be, but I have a hunch:

The first time I smelled Eros was in my buddy's car when we were on our way to a club. When I got in it smelled so damn good, that I naturally wanted to know which fragrance it was. After I found out that it was Eros, I went to the Türkisen the next day to buy. Before I had it packed, I tried it again on a test strip and on my skin. I was more than disappointed with both of them!
It barely smelled like a car the day before! It was indescribable, different, almost salty. Disappointed, I put the scent back and went home.

At the next opportunity when I was at home with my boyfriend, I had to sniff at his Eros bottle. Before that he had the scent on it a few times and he always smelled good. But even when I smelled his bottle, this disappointing salty scent came towards me again.

Today I know why that was and probably why the low rating is:
You can't smell that scent right out of the bottle! Whether test paper or your own skin. It's clear that a fragrance always starts differently than it does in the dry-out, but here it's especially bad. Do me a favor and smell the head of a bottle. Salty, isn't it? Believe me, this scent has a very different effect on you than you feel when you test it. In addition, the people around you also feel this scent better and more intense than you do. Try again.
Give Eros a chance!

Definitely not just for the younger crowd...
You always hear that Versace Eros is the teen party scent of a bad idea... Maybe others think so, but I don't. For me, Eros is a very useful scent for everyday use that works for me in the same way as JPG Le Male. This one has just like Eros a fresh mint top note, a sweet heart note and a sweet spicy base note that is vanilla heavy. This fragrance is worn by men of all ages, although it is sweet and playful... So why is Eros labeled a teen scent? I can't understand it and I'm not going to be influenced by it! I am 35 years old and I think Eros suits me very well. About the scent itself I can say... It opens with lots of mint and lemon and a crisp green apple. In this phase the fragrance has a very good sillage and you are definitely noticed. After 30 minutes the mint and the apple say goodbye and lemon, tonka bean and geranium mix. Here it becomes a little sweeter and more playful. Also in this phase it is still well perceptible from the environment. In the base it stays sweet and you definitely notice the vanilla but it mixes with a little bit of spice (I think it could be the moss?). The shelf life is very good and with four sprays I can easily last 10h+ all day long! In summer I wouldn't necessarily wear it except maybe in the evening, but in winter, spring and autumn it works just perfectly. So far I have only received positive comments about this fragrance and nobody has ever said I smell like a party-happy teenager... So it's all a matter of opinion! I see JPG Ultra Male ehr as a teenager fragrance, because it is just overly sweet and almost feminine from top to bottom "Grin"... But fun aside! I can really recommend Eros to every man! I will definitely keep wearing it.
Even though I got 40+ because age is just a number. ;)

EROS: Only for the Junge Party Crowd or also suitable for everyday use for Ü30?
Eros appeared already in 2013 and we have now 2019. I have never tested the fragrance before because I was sure to find a sweet and synthetic fragrance a ala Ultra Male or Invictus. Which is not my preference for scents. And at the age of 48 and as a married family man, I prefer to spend the weekend gardening rather than partying through the nights in clubs. And that even though I live in Berlin;)

Due to various comments on the internet I never found the fragrance worth testing. Only the flacon I found optically quite well designed. Not as boring as Versace Pour Homme / Eau Fraiche but also not too extreme. After a sample that happened to end up in my shopping bag, I was quite surprised: I think the scent is pretty good. It is (perhaps reformulated in the meantime?) not nearly the absolute Tonka bean bomb, but smells rather fresh, somewhat woody, with a pleasant light sweetness. Actually, it's easy to cope with everyday life. It's not a special note that stands out. Rather the overall composition is coherent.

Maybe I'm not very representative either, because I use quite strong scents (Tom Ford, DHI etc.) in the last years.
BUT: In contrast to Dylan Blue, which I found unpleasant on my skin after a short time, and the YSL L'Homme Intense I tested earlier, which I definitely found too sweet for me, I'm going to buy it as an everyday fragrance. For me, the fragrance is pretty relaxed, so to all those who are not quite so young anymore: just test it out...

Convinced only after a few years!
First I would like to mention that I like this seducer of Versace very much. Good in what he wants and how he achieves it. It took almost five years to gain this insight. But how did it come to?

When Eros appeared on the market I was tender 18 years young and so I corresponded exactly to the target group. The video of the fragrance release was of course very promising and I wanted to convince myself whether it also keeps what the advertisement suggests. So I went to town after school to test Eros. But unlike I expected, he didn't agree with me at all. Too trivial, too cheap, too synthetic - I just couldn't understand what justified the hype for this fragrance. Months and years went by. With almost every perfumery visit I tested him again. Took the test strip with me to see if it could convince me in the drydown.

In autumn last year I spent a weekend with my friends in Vienna and we decided to go out in the evening to celebrate. Of course, each of us put on a fragrance and agreed that we would use one fragrance of the other for each evening. Due to a lack of alternatives (several Joop and Hugo Boss fragrances) I chose Eros. So 3-4 sprayers put on and already we started on the way. In the beginning I was completely indifferent to the scent, but at an advanced time... Besides 2-3 compliments from strangers, I remembered the drydown that accompanied me late at night on my way home and even on my journey home the next day.

A short time later I decided to order a bottle. I don't even want to say too many words about the subject of compliments - but it is as it is. The drydown is very strong and pleasing, the performance is worthy of a party scent and it stands out. These attributes make it perfect for a wild party night and exactly for the reasons mentioned above I bought it.

I would never have expected it, but I have never received so much positive feedback on a fragrance when I went out. After using it several times, I can clearly say that for me this is the true undisputed clubbing king. Loud, smoky large-capacity discos - the application area of this flacon! Only there and nowhere else do I resort to Eros and am glad to own it for this purpose in my rally.

I realize, of course, that this fragrance is not an olfactory revelation. That's why it took me several years to decide to buy it. The appearance of the bottle appeals to me. Concerning the scents I refer to the numerous contributions, where these are explained in more detail.

A superb first clubbing/ going-out scent. An immortal fragrance DNA, which, yet simple, exudes precisely what it sets out to.

The opening is good with mint and apple. The drydown is overly sweet and cloying, with vanilla mixed with tonka and Ambroxan. Too much.

That mint/apple opening is very potent, dry down is very dry woody/ambox. Beast performance which actually gets annoying it lasts so long.
