What a glorious ladies FUUUSCHÄÄR ...!!!
Actually, such a fun headline is totally inappropriate for such an excellent and exceedingly exquisite perfume.....

It's kind of like writing, "Long live the KWIIEEEN".....

So please graciously overlook this little faux pas ;-).....

ESQUEL is, according to Xerjoff - and also in my humble opinion - a ladies' fougere.....what ultimately makes it "feminine" is above all its wonderful base....but more on that later.....

As we know, the lynchpin of a fougere is usually lavender.....a scent that usually doesn't have me screaming "HERE".....

With Esquel, however, everything - really EVERYTHING - is different.....

Immediately after the first spray, there is the impression of a fairly classic cologne for about 5-10 seconds......but that changes almost immediately....and I suspect it is the myrtle that makes the crucial difference here......

After this brief first impression, the fragrance immediately becomes wonderfully aromatic, sweet herbal and spicy......even the lavender shows a completely unfamiliar face......it now seems almost amber to me..........since I actually do not particularly appreciate amber (which is not in it at all ;-)..), it surprises me extraordinarily how well I like this "amber lavender" note.....

Immediately join a soft powdery iris and an outstandingly beautiful, earthy, sweetish-resinous and warm-woody nard......a fragrance ingredient that I have only recently consciously come to know and love.....

Both orange blossom and rose remain pleasantly enigmatic.....whereas petigrain and cinnamon are somewhat more prominent.....but at no point as "soloists", but always perfectly harmoniously embedded in the overall action.......

From this stage Esquel now takes his turn towards the "female fougere"......

The fragrance becomes increasingly soft and balsamic.....Opoponax, patchouli and tonka give it a creamy, resinous, yet airy sweetness (not that viscous, clumsy and unpleasant sweetness often experienced in indie resin fragrances ;-)...)

To my mind, it's musk and vetiver that keep the scent from being too heavy and sticky at this stage and truly regulate it masterfully.....

If I were not a "Vielsprüher", the 50ml with a beloved fragrance just last 3-4 months, and ESQUEL would not be so price-intensive, so he would have long moved in with me.....

But what is not, can still become ;-).....

PS: Intensity, durability and sillage are of course just as excellent as the entire fragrance .....

fresh & aromatic
And yet another new Xerjoff lands on my wish list and this one is right up there. Oh dear, will this ever have an end? I rather think not and I'm happy if my collection keeps growing haha.

It starts off very fresh for me and I notice citrusy notes and also the lavender. (I have to say that lavender was a candidate where I was always hesitant to try a fragrance, often I gave this scent a wide berth. Meanwhile, I dare but and was often taught better) - as also here. The lavender pleases me here very well and makes it also for me to the feel-good fragrance. Immediately you also notice the aromatics and spiciness. The orange blossom (a dry, dusty, powdery one for me) orange blossom also comes to my nose, as do resinous notes, which I'm growing to like. In my opinion, it becomes even more gorgeous in the drydown! I really like the progression and this scent tail that keeps wafting at me makes me addicted! I constantly have to smell my wrist and think "wait, is that Equel?" For me personally, it also has vibes to Coromandel by Chanel.

This fragrance is definitely layered and very complex. A very elegant fragrance in my eyes. Test him like times; I hope you fall in love with him like me

The sentence will be pronounced..
"Defendants, what do you have to say for yourself?" "Well, judge, maybe it was just insanity, or whatever it is called..... because actually I never intended to offer the flak king a home... actually these Xerjoffs aren't really mine either, if you understand what I mean... aren't they? You know, Mr Richter, I think the real culprit is lavender... yes, yes, one always thinks that this is a completely innocent flower... it should also be reassuring. I could recommend that to you once... *shrug together*... well, now you spare the poor hammer... yes, the lavender. If that's inside a scent, then sometimes I lose my temper... *guilty-consciously-hang my head*... and then I saw him in the souk... he looked very lonely and sad, you have to understand that I couldn't help but... yeah, right, the last time I promised never to buy blind again... it won't happen again. And I have to say, the scent is really something very special... originally I thought it was like Coromandel by Chanel, but a little lavenderized..... and I only used Esquel in the night..... You know, lavender soothes...*shrug together*.... yes, Mr. Richter, I am aware that this would have almost become another accusation, that I let the fragrance out of its bottle only at night... yes, for sure, no species-appropriate attitude for precious fragrances... then I also recognized my wrong track and sniffed at the perfume extensively during the day.... and then I realized that the lavender is beautiful, but there was a lot more behind it... something so spicy and resinous, maybe it's the myrrh... *shrug*... no, no, judge, of course you don't look grumpy... myrrh....i don't know how myrrh really smells... but it's such a spicy fragrance with a very delicate bitter note here, which isn't unpleasant, but only exciting... maybe it's the opoponax, too... *shrug*... .... I'd never take the liberty of saying Oh Popo! to you, Mr Richter.... of course not Grandpa-Popo either... Opoponax, that's obviously such a resin that should smell like myrrh... but since I don't know how the myrrh smells either, I can't say it exactly... in any case it smells like resin and spice and also somehow fresh and not dull at all.... It doesn't get too sweet either, but just a little vanilla and quite, quite cuddly and also so that it warms your heart.... and then I can really understand again that I used it at the beginning as a good-night scent... *shrug*... yes, of course, I solemnly promised not to do that to the scent anymore, but to treat it to sunlight and company.... So there can be no question of criminal disregard any more. I ask for a mild verdict!

*in a twitch*.... Yes, judge, that seems most appropriate to me. To wear Esquel four days in a row from morning to evening, I accept the judgement very gladly!

Powdery sweet
Esquel starts off sweet and citrusy, with aromatic herbs like lavender . As the scent develops, it takes on a hint of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla, and the lavender becomes a little more woody, the dry down is a powdery nutmeg, cinnamon vanilla musk scent that is actually quite lovely. The vanilla musk seems to be the stable state because it lasts for the rest of the day. There's plenty of sillage throughout. A good perfume, especially in the later stages, but not worth the price.

Powdery, balsamic, lemony, very round and creamy, with a river of timid lavender running through it. Jicky vibes.

Scents like Guerlain Jicky + Habit Rouge EDP + musky opoponax. It's close to men's and it's a very elaborate oriental barbershop, imo.
