YSL surprises me after all!
"... Sometimes one thinks that there is no further to go, everything is already fixed and done, but then suddenly depths and vistas appear which one thought were unattainable and which now present themselves to the accumulated experience in all their fullness. I have often feared that I was dried up and broken and would stand hopelessly before the black curtain of boredom - but this curtain has then often been torn, and I have been able to glimpse boundless horizons - which has brought me the greatest sense of happiness, I will express it, moments of true pride." - YSL
This motto of Yves Saint Laurent's life, which he proclaimed in 1983 in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art at the opening of his exhibition there, rings in my ears when I make the acquaintance of "Le Vestiaire - Velours"
Although the fragrance was composed long after the death of the master and yet I have the feeling that a curtain of fragrance boredom has parted for me here too.
Because particularly torn me from the stool have the fragrances of this brand for a long time no longer - actually never so right.
So I went a bit casually to testing and was also promptly punished for it!
A delicate infusion of black tea, not too sparingly perfumed with black and pink pepper, welcomes me.
Oh, my! What says my sensitive nose with her pepper allergy? Will she cope with it or sneeze for a long time as punishment?
It's amazing: I tolerate this interesting melange, despite allergy and enjoy this aroma!
The elegant iris takes a few steps behind the beautiful, but also a little dominant white large-flowered jasmine. What an unfolding of the floral fullness offers itself at this moment!
Frankincense, wonderfully harmonizing with the previous fragrances, completes a fragrance painting very appealing to the senses.
Creamy vanilla in full warm fragrance; woods, cleverly ambriert and appropriate in this wonderfully flowing course and a sympathetic dose of musk complete this fragrance in a sophisticated way.
This creates a very fine touch of noble suede, which is well balanced with the bright flowers and does not necessarily seek the foreground.
For a not too big leather lover, as I am, this is a very pleasant scent!
What with a shelf life of several hours is a real pleasure.
How many times have I tried almost desperately after a certain time to wash off a leather note suddenly annoying me and failed because of the extraordinary shelf life!
This time I feel this elegant fragrance creation as a soft embrace that invites you to cuddle!
A YSL fragrance, albeit from a time long after the eventful life of the great magician, which I really like: I am amazed and delighted!
