Parfumo Research: Join in now and win a Guerlain exclusive!

Dear Parfumo Users!

Thanks to your active support the perfume database is growing at a steady and quick pace. With far more than 40,000 perfumes we have already achieved a lot. Our goal is to collect the available information about all perfumes of mankind that have ever existed or that are still to come in the future.

But we are not satisfied with the progress of our team, it is still too small. If just one of us quits for a few days, the queue slows down. Working on the perfume database gives us so much fun, but how can we convey this fun to you?

We are going to have a contest with attractive prizes to win!

And here are the rules:

The participants support the Parfumo Research teams for four weeks. Not only with new revisions and proposals, but most of all by checking the perfume data sets that are in the queue:

• Is all information given in a proposal sufficiently validated by one or several sources?
• Are there maybe more sources that contain additional information?
• Do we have diverging informations? How to decide then?
• Is the perfume's name spelled correctly?
• Are the fragrance notes given completely?
  

As long as the contest runs, the participants will receive editor's authorisations so they can make corrections and additions within the proposals.

As a reward for your effort, you can win - guess what – a beautiful perfume:

1st prize:

An exclusive perfume from a Maison Guerlain, i.e. Tonka Impériale, Arsène Lupin, Cuir Beluga, Chamade Homme, Bois d'Arménie, Derby or Spiritueuse Double Vanille. We will be pleased to help the winner make a good choice!

2nd prize:

A fragrance by L'Artisan Parfumeur from the Explosions d'Emotions line: Rappelle-Toi or Onde Sensuelle

3rd prize:

Choose your favourite Serge Lutens fragrance from the regular line (50 ml splash bottle), such as Gris clair..., La Fille de Berlin, Chergui or Ambre sultan.

4th prize:

Choose between Swiss Army Victoria by Victorinox, Montana Parfum d'Homme by Montana or Break Line by Hollister

We will properly ship the prizes to the winner, however, we cannot be held responsible for loss, any damage or delay during transport, and for possible duty taxes.

During the contest the current core team will work together with you. At any time, questions are welcome, and we will gladly give advice and tips. We do not expect that everything works out perfectly from the beginning.

But we want to see that the participants make themselves acquainted with our rule set and learn to apply it. The candidates of our choice work efficiently and precise, and most of all with lots of fun on our common cause. Some capacity for teamwork is required - and that is really important to us. Often, we have cases of doubt and more than one opinion, and so, you have to be able to quickly arrange a good solution with your colleagues. There is not enough time for people who find it hard to compromise. And more important than a singular high effort of time is a certain continuity of participation. Whatever you do in Parfumo Research - please work precisely and thoroughly, not quickly.

A few days after the end of those four weeks, a jury from the Research core team will look at the contributions of the participants and evaluate them. Among those, whose engagement we appreciated under the specified criteria, we will draw the lot.

The contest starts on Sunday, 30 March 2014 and ends on Saturday, 26 April 2014. All Parfumo users are invited to take part except the verifiers and final verifiers of the Parfumo Research team.
