Disappointed after high expectations
After reading the countless positive reviews about its scent and the projection and longevity as well, I couldn't wait to try it. Nearly blind bought a bottle once, but never made the final call. It was a mystery to me, until last week when a swap partner sent me a sample (for which I thank you greatly!). I tried it on my wrist and it was lovely, it really was. But after 30 minutes, it had faded to a skinscent which I could barely pick up after 2 hours. It was so weak, I could hardly believe it. I have tried the eau de toilette which I believed to be lasting less long, but projecting stronger. This was not the case, unfortunately.

All in all, I'm glad I did not blind buy this as I would have been disapointed by its lack of strenght. The opening is the best part, I find it a beautiful sweet take on lemon. It reminds me of something else but I cannot put my finger on it.

The opening of this is somewhat similar to Esprit Mondain by Brecourt.

Not your average vetiver
Despite what the name might insinuate, this is not mainly a vetiver scent. The vetiver shares it's leading role with tea but it takes some time before both make their presence known. The dates and incense support this in the background and give it a sweetness, but on my skin (which is a bit dry) I get a very earthy and dry vetiver, to which the tea note contributes. I've worn this for two hours now and I have just poured some water over my skin to get it wet. Immediately the tea and the date are more pronounced, creating more freshness and sweetness. It is a very interesting and complex fragrance, but unfortunately it does not work on my skin.

With time, the tea note seems to fade away and the vetiver is what remains. I am somewhat reminded of other vetiver scents, but they seem more dedicated to vetiver than this fragrance is. However, I feel this offers more of a complex journey or discovery, especially with the abundance of notes that are present in this composition.

It is somewhat greenish, but I wouldn't call it a full blown green scent. There are probably greener scents out there. This is more earthy, dark green or perhaps a tad dark brownish. Very interesting still.

I could try with unscented lotion, but I feel I find this scent more interesting to discover than something I'd wear daily. I received a new bottle of this that I have used for the first time just now, which I'm offering up for swap.

Reminiscent
After my first time wearing it.

It's so dark and smoky, perhaps one of the darkest scents I have come across until now. Somehow it reminds me of burning fire, but also something I used to smell as a child when I visited my dad's workplace. He was in the army, where he worked with tanks and other armored vehicles. That is the mental image this perfume paints me.

One of my first experiences with niche perfumes. Honestly, I was a bit afraid to try this one but somehow I just had to smell this. Is it dark? Most definitely yes! Can I take out any single note? No. Is it a versatile fragrance? No. But man, this is beautiful! I keep smelling my hand and strangely wonderful memories from my childhood keep emerging. As dark as this is, it is soothing. Who would've thought that?
