Expensive Silky Body Lotion
Pure Musc is a very safe, clean and feminine perfume. Smells like an expensive body lotion. The musk here is similar to that in most of NR's line - smooth, cool, silky and creamy, however there's no added kinky undertone to it in this composition. More than that, the white floral bouquet is all but overpowering the musky aspect, making Pure Musc quite classically femme and also safe for all seasons and all occasions. Could easily be a signature perfume for someone looking for a safe non-offensive scent.

Trying to guess what the floral notes would be in this one, my nose picks up orange blossom and tuberose in the forefront. I'm 100% sure on both of these. There's probably some ylang-ylang, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley in there as well.

Longevity is amazing (12+ on me) and projection is also surprisingly strong, particularly during the first 2 hours. People who weren't physically close to me have asked me what I was wearing.

Old fashioned beauty
Gorgeous perfume, with a soapy, oriental, vintage vibe. To my nose this isn't a fruity, fresh or sweet perfume, not by a long shot. It's deep, complex, slightly dark and if I'm not mistaken there's some (dirty) musks and incense in the drydown as well as uplifting soapy aldehydes in the opening. It smells old fashioned in the best possible way, like the charming old buildings and churches in a beautifully aged city. Also brings to mind incense sticks and more esoteric aspects of life. An easy love for me

Springtime fluffy romance
This version is a more romantic and spring-like interpretation of the original Princess. It smells like rose flavored marshmallows sprinkled with matcha. I can't detect any ginger though. Princess Rose de Mai is powdery, soft, a bit sweet and perfect for spring time.

Longevity is good (around 8 hours) and the sillage sits rather close - you'll be able to smell and enjoy yourself but likely won't distract anyone around.

I personally like this one so much that I have made it my 2020 spring signature.

A Romanian olfactory experience
This is quite a beautiful and unique perfume, especially if you're into offbeat sweet gourmands with unusual floral aspects. Its name 'Ia' means a special type of traditional Romanian blouse, as pictured on the perfume's box.

Many of the notes listed here are not the ones found in the fragrance. Here is the official list, which is closer to what you will smell: traditional sweet bread (cozonac), mulled wine with cinnamon, vanilla, wildflowers, green grass, blueberries, wild strawberries, yellow bedstraw, wild carnation, honeysuckle.

I'm not a particularly patriotic type to be honest, but still this is a beautiful perfume with an accessible price. I love how the smell is distinctive and doesn't resemble anything I've tried before - it does remind of something authentically Romanian, despite not being able to put my finger on it. Smells like a happy home reunion on Holidays.

I'm glad to have added it to my collection. Lasting power is good (8h on my skin) and sillage is soft-moderate, depending on how much you spray. I find it best in cool but not freezing weather (autumn, spring, warmer winter days).

Lilac Spring Dream
I've been hunting high and low for a beautiful, true-to-nature and long-lasting lilac scent, but that would also have the complexity of a perfume and not a mere smell.

Of all those I have tested, this Guerlain Idylle's limited edition remains the best lilac offering in my opinion. It doesn't turn soapy and grassy like Ineke's After My Own Heart, it doesn't go light and watery like FM's En Passant, it doesn't smell chemical and synthetic like most mainstream fragrances and it doesn't lose its lilac character on the way, like other niche I have tested.

Idylle Duet Jasmin-Lilas is a lovely floral perfume for spring and warm weather, although I've worn it on a snowy winter's day and it was surprisingly gorgeous in the cold air as well.

The lilac is the most prominent note, but you can sense the jasmine, rose and lily-of-the-valley in the background. The floral bouquet has the trademark Guerlain aura of expensive elegance, including a powdery texture that takes away some of the freshness, replacing it with a classy, more mature vibe.

In my experience the lasting power is more than sufficient, with 10+ hours of olfactory pleasure. Sillage is soft and discreet.

Unfortunately it was a limited edition and is now increasingly difficult to find. Perhaps it wasn't as successful as Guerlain had hoped, but as far as I am concerned, it's a lilac dream.
