The Italian Coast in a bottle
Isn't the Italian Coast marvelous? Sunshine, a soft breeze from the sea, the invigorating scent of lemons and oranges, you cannot but feel totally relaxed and incredibly well.

This is what Juliet Stewart's first Eau de Parfum is all about - every woman should find her own inner true peace.

A floral oriental perfume starting fresh with lighthearted citrus notes, it has the gentle twist of an added basil note. The soft aura deepens in the heart with light Mediterranean herbs, creamy vanilla and elegant jasmin but it never becomes heavy. Like a gentle song, the scent has a lilting quality. Amber and precious woody notes lend a hand towards a long lasting base.

Although this scent has a definite presence, it remains delicate throughout.

Sexy? No doubt. Juliet Stewart was constantly asked, "What is it you are wearing?"

Hot Desert Air
I will add my review to the long line of glorious accolades in the internet perfume review world. They were the basis upon which I bought it - unsniffed - and was not disappointed. To the contrary, it is one of the best unisex colognes around.

Usually men's colognes are too bold, clean or whatever ... this one is a cologne that can be worn from morning to night. In the morning, it gives you that extra lift after stepping out of the shower, in the evening - now spray on a lot - it projects the aura of what the name promises. Literally: dry desert air ... That may be true if I wanted to dream in that direction but - if it were called "intense lemon verbena with a lot of depth" it would be unromantic, yet true.

Anyway, I love it, just love it. It is both a close-to-skin scent and a short sillage scent. To really feel it, one has to spray on a lot and let it dry down. The stages are rather much of the same from opening to end, or is it my nose? Whatever, the dry down is rather long lasting and will compound when you spray on more. This is not a sillage monster, rather a harmonious and inoffensive scent. It is comfortable and wearable on all occasions. If it were not so expensive, this would be my go-to scent but here niche quality comes in an expensive 50 ml size, so it has to be appreciated.

Dry and spicy
If TAUER PERFUMES "L'air du desert marocain" is a song, then "Eau d'Epices" has the volume turned up.

There is the same smoldering spiciness. The cinnamon and woody notes mingle, quite dry. It has a short projection and surrounds me like a powdery cloud. While CARON "Parfum Sacre" is colder, this one is deeper. Also, while "Parfum Sacre" is somewhat chalky - for lack of a better word - "Eau d'Epices" has more of a medicinal streak. I can detect a faint gooey honey note in there which was also present in TAUER PERFUMES "Orange Star". Well, after a period of testing several TAUERS, more and more similarities begin to shine out and smell familiar, like a leitmotiv, a Tauer-ade.

"Eau d'Epices" is quite suitable for Winter. There is nothing terribly remarkable about it and I put the sample away and forgot about it.

Give me my Tea Rose
Another oud blend that I know and like is AL HARAMAIN "Attar Al Kaaba", and now I also like "Marwah" from the same house. "Marwah" is fresher than "Attar Al Kaaba".

These oud blend perfume oils don't behave like a 3-level pyramid of top notes, heart and base. I can smell oud from the very beginning and all the way through.

While the same oily thickness is present in both, "Marwah" is bright. Spicy and crisp, in the same fashion as a tea rose will smell thinner than a dark velvety rose, like in BY KILIAN "Rose Oud" for yet another comparison.

Long lasting and unobtrusive, if lightly applied, a gentle breeze of scent.

Tacky
I seldom write a negative review but this scent is a "scrubber". I could not wash it off fast enough. Of course, I am not a fan of white flowers unless they are creamy and in combination with a bouquet of something else, flowery or powdery.

"Central Park West" has some industrial smell to it, like glycerin. Cannot accept anything of it.

The design is rather tacky, too. The Rose adornment at the bottleneck was fitting with "Madison Square Park" and that was original, but to pair it again with a purple hound stock pattern is an aberration of taste.

Not for me.
