Treasure hunt...
A coupple of years ago I was in Stockholm meeting some fellow perfumistas. And yes, we tried a lot of fumes. And I thought I had a grip on what I tried, most scents I liked I remembered... except of one... and that was a good one, really good actually. Eventually the only one left to try again was Costume National´s 21, and guess if I was relieved when I recognised the lost treasure at once.

21 is a perfect winter scent. Filled with warm, jummy goodness. Soft milky notes lingers in the background, safron, royal jelly (honey like) and moss amp it up to refinery, spices, sweetness, smoke and a lot of other really great thing. Might be a little to much for some, this is not a gentle and shy scent. It´s close to bombastic, but also very pretty in a strange and unique way. Love it, of course I´ve got my own bottle by now.

A must try if you like strange and personal gourmand style frags. Good sillage and good staying power. Makes me smile each time I wear it.

Classy and cozy.
I can´t tell exactly what in Amorvero that makes it such a great fragrance, but my guess is that there is high quality ingrediences in it. That alone isn´t really enough to explain the extreme comfort I experience when wearing it. The opening is fresh and juicy, not that special, but oh just wait for the heart and basenotes and you get rewarded big time, that is, if you like big, jummy, velvety, creamy, smoth, luch and grand florals. I do.

Amorvero is both gorgeously classic and surprisingly comfy at the same time. Like an old classic going through a reformulation which manage to make it even better! A must try for floral lovers, if you like frags like FMs Iris Poudre, you will surely like this one as well. Oh, and that soft vanilla in the drydown, makes me want to eat it. Sweet, magnificent and rich. Not for the timid.

Nice sillage, good lasting power, but makes me curious about the lasting power of the edp.

Hot and freckled
When it´s cold outside and you drink a big cup of your favorite tea, you know that warmth from within feeling you got? Like This works on the same way, but obviously from the outside. I can also compare it to an exotic dish with aromatic spices and a subtle heat from chili. And that little sting in ginger ale. Yes, Like This is a foody scent which is most at home in the gourmand corner of perfumery, still it´s not sweet, cloying or heavy at all, it´s more kind of refreshingly gourmand. Since I´m usually a gourmand lover it´s not that strange that I really like Like This, but I think it could please even people not usually so much into gourmand scents as well.

Like This is a homey scent, comfy and strangely familiar. Sometimes when I wear it I get dissapointed when I realise I won´t get any freckles, since it makes me feel like I actually have freckles...

Good longevity and nice sillage without getting disturbing.

Paint the sky with stars...
My first experience with Yohji was through a lithuanian perfumista friend, and well, she did get me hooked. Unfortunatly soo, since the beauty is discontinued and both hard and expensive to hunt down. Yohji smells like the stars on a black night sky if that´s even remotly possible.

Yohji is my first choise if I feel a little sick. There is something magically uplifting with Yohji. It´s both bright and caressing at the same time. The notes are very seamlessly blended so it´s hard -for me- to pinpoint the individual notes. It don´t develop that much either, being just a little more piercing in the opening and a little more smoth in the drydown. Yohji suits everyone, most people I´ve heard of seems to really, really like it. If you don´t feel light at heart, Yohji will almost convince you that you are. If it was possible for me to bring back discontinued gems, Yohji would be one of the first I would make a wish for.

Medieval and melancholy.
Some perfumes smells good and others smell bad. Some perfumes are bottled stories, fairy tale trips and travels through space and time. Sienne L'Hiver is one of those magic potions.

It leads me through a somewhat slow and wintery town, yes it could be Sienna, but also any other old town with sleepy old buildings and narrow alleys. Maybe I´m not -only- visiting Sienna in winter, but Sienna as it was hundred of years ago before cars and air poisoning factories... It is a strange creature. Murky and gloomy as the forgotten backyard of a closed grocery store. Damp and dark woods and resolving bricks. Yet with little streaks of something warm and foody, roasted, aromatic and not anything like the everyday food I use to eat. Some softer notes bringing a little sweetness to it, there must be a floral shop somewhere or do I sense the fragrance of a winter funeral from distant?

Yes, Sienne L'Hiver is on the verge to melancholia for me. No, I don´t "like" like it, it´s seldom I feel the need to smell like this. It´s more a state of mind then a scent to have in my usual "routine".
