Jour de Fête by L'Artisan Parfumeur
How dare L'Artisan make and sell a perfume such as this? For once, I agree with a discontinuation. The scent is so fleeting it is like the emperor's invisible clothes: why spend money on something that does not smell past the first two minutes and then, smells of a watery...

Beyond Rose by Clinique
Once again I waited a long time to blind buy a perfume and when I finally did, I was sorry I didn't do it sooner. Beyond Rose is just what I wanted from a rose perfume: dark rose and spices with a resin base. It is what I wished Rosier Ardent could have been but never was....
What a honeyed rose should be: incredibly lush, juicy and effusive, tempered by the the slightest oud. The bottle is a work of art alone.+1
Way more complex than the price and bottle suggest: yes, it's sweet but there are many facets to the scent. Don't let popularity put you off
Poorly made perfume with an excellent smell: cheap bottle with flimsy sprayer, scent is extremely fleeting but the actual smell is nice.
Exact same smell as original and almost identical sillage but way better lasting power. The bottle is heavy glass with gold lattice: nice.
Lily-centric opening maintains lightness while the heavy vanilla makes the perfume languid and present. The sticky cream grounds the scent.
Surprisingly effective dark rose: geranium and a dirty, stinky beauty usually not found outside of niche. Strong sillage.
Beautiful boozy vanilla fragrance with a real wood-cask liquor effect but gone in minutes: no sillage, no lasting power. Shame.+1
A juicier Alien but no oud detected.+1
A smoother, more ambery MFK Absolue Pour le Soir. This new creation will replace it. I like the new one slightly better.+2
Fruitier Angel without the skank.+1

„Guerlain Cuir Beluga, Dior Cuir Cannage, Hermes Cuir d’Ange”
A vanilla and powder lover’s dream, soft suede leather perfumes
approximate the delicately-gloved rich lady who does not want to smell
dirty and animalistic. Guerlain did it the best: Cuir Beluga is all
about heliotrope and vanilla, with tiny wisps of amber and something
slightly earthy rising from time to time. Yes, it smells a bit like
pastry but there is not much sweetness there. All the powder-leathers
smell more like cashmere sweaters and the inside linings of suede coats

Wow, you may be one of the most active people here especially in case of Perfume blogs, that section is getting new articles really rarely :-)

It's a great pleasure to read your perfume blog. I like Masque Milano Russian Tea but my daughter asked me not to wear it when she's around...

Welcome to this charming site. It has so many boutique like features. The crowd is nice, too.

Welcome here, TPV! :-) I read your comment on the introduction topic, and after almost 1,5 year I can tell, that here the conversation goes usually calm and normal :-) Wish you all the best here!
