Hist!
Finally.
Nervously you trip from one foot to the other.
The old stone staircase.
Your aunt's house, which is almost as old.
(she has long since lived in a luxurious retirement home.)
Housekeeper - not a word you like.
But it may be true.
"Checking in on things now and then."
No matter.
You're standing in front of your escape castle.
Get me out of this cage.
You keep the bottle in a fake book.
In the library, next to the Buddenbrocks.
You wouldn't take it home.
Never.
There's no room for that at your house.
Too much efficiency. Everything runs like clockwork.
Long march through the institutions, my ass.
First they promoted you.
Then they promoted you again. And again.
Now what?
Executive floor. Corner office. As in "The Apartment".
But you've kept your subversive spirit.
Haven't you?
Now you unlock the door.
Up the stairs. Into the library.
-----
You hold it in your hand.
Geranium Odorata.
Almost nothing holding name.
Almost all holding fragrance
Almost is your word.
You pull the trigger.

The opening is like a door that immediately welcomes you with
citrusy hand into the beloved garden
into the beloved garden. Here everything is as it was in your childhood:
the old table, which stands in an enchanted corner on the
high-growing meadow, half-roofed by a
wild rose bush. The tangy fresh scent of many herbs,
mixed with mint and dandelions invites you to
To sit down. Paper and quill are already ready.
You take a seat and look at the magnificent geranium -
bouquet, which is in a pajama-colored pitcher on the table
on the table. You dip the quill into the small barrel with
finest cardamom ink and begin to draw.
The scent seems to guide your hand - its light, bright
green and encouragingly fresh children's garden aura with
this round, sand-cake-shaped spice doesn't need
to whisper in your ear anymore - you know it just the same:
All is well.
And when you're done drawing and playing,
and maybe roll-around-in-the-meadow sometime,
when it suits you, then, sure, then the soap may come into
play, too The good old rose soap, and you'll be sitting
soon after that, inside, at the dining table, and grandmother will
open the soup tureen and everything will be right again.
And at some point, the soothingly refreshing, mildly
floral, barely forefinger-bitter, delicately child-spicy,
familiar-herbaceous and comforting-scented melody softens.
With its slow fading, you find yourself again
in the house, without a hangover, content for now, almost full.
The amazing inner balance that the scent possesses,
seems to pass over to you a little.
Now you can return to normal.
To what they expected of you. Your duties.
And "challenges".
What a ghastly, missounding word.
Compared to "Geranium Odorata".
But you don't mind too much, you're again
you're ready for anything And besides - they don't have you quite yet.
In the next meeting, for example, you could come up with a
with a
well-sounding, balanced rationale raise for all junior employees.
Although - now would not be a good time
because of the upcoming company valuation. Then just
something else. More vacation? At the moment, unfortunately, quite difficult
feasible.
But you would come up with something good.
And you'd push it through.
Someday.
Wouldn't you?

The toothpaste woman
The "Geranium Pour Monsieur" by Frederic Malle has creepingly cleaned my heart, but I still find it quite aggressive, stiff, too elegant and of course not quite inexpensive. So I thought to myself that Diptyque's "Geranium Odorata" could be an affordable, adequate alternative or temporary solution. And that's partly true, but the comparison still limps and I had honestly promised myself a little more in the endurance test...

Don't misunderstand, "Geranium Odorata" is a fine fragrance, especially for fans of toothpaste-like, minty geranium scents. But the big litter, even if you only look at this subgenre, is not Diptyques Rosengeranienflagschiff. At least not on a gentleman, in my opinion. He's got this flowery hand cream vibe mixed with toothpaste or mouthwash. Doesn't sound very appealing, but fans of this flower know what I mean and like. Rosane transparency, in which more masculine components such as pepper or vetiver take hardly any responsibility. Or just before the end. That's a shame. Very one-sided and tame all this seems. Unfortunately, the classic wetasure effect does not occur with me. And I had hoped exactly for its urgency. But maybe I don't know anything about it either, I have a wrong idea about it and I should just finally go to the barber for the first time in my life, because in this relationship I am still a virgin... "Geranium Odorata" remains a solid, fine spring artist who has brushed his teeth well, but has not used his third ones at all. Say: the bite is missing!

Flacon: playful yet stylish. And affordable, by the way.
Sillage: gentle and creamy and unobtrusive
Shelf life: 5-6 hours are honestly something short to me

Conclusion: Geranium cream, soft and pleasing. And a little boring and weak-chested. I am reasonably satisfied, but he is not the substitute for Malle

Clean Balanced Geranium...
Geranium Odorata opens with clean lemon-like bergamot citrus as hints of an underlying green, slightly soapy rose-like geranium hover in the background. As the composition moves to its early heart the green soapy geranium begins to assert itself and takes control from the remaining bergamot now in support, coupling with mild spice. During the late dry-down the bergamot and geranium both vacate the composition for the most part, revealing natural smelling cedar wood and relatively sharp vetiver from the base that remain stars for the balance. Projection is average and longevity good to very good at 9-10 hours on skin.

As geranium is an ingredient that I tend to have trouble with I approached Geranium Odorata with completely unwarranted mild apprehension. My initial skepticism died as soon as I got my first whiffs of the gorgeous bergamot citrus open with the geranium balancing its sharpness perfectly. I have heard in certain circles that rose and geranium can share some characteristics but with this composition it is more evident than ever, as the geranium comes off like a sharp green soapy rose. To add a bit of balance to the fresh clean nature of the rose-like geranium the perfumer skillfully added just a touch of mild supporting spice without distracting from the composition's general character. Finally, as the geranium gradually dissipates, the amazing vetiver and cedar dry-down controls through the finish. While certainly woody vetiver dry-downs are nothing new, this one is extremely well-implemented, matching the composition rather nicely. The truth is the entire composition screams balance and control throughout. Those seeking something completely innovative or rugged are bound to be disappointed, but while I like those kinds of compositions plenty, every once in a while balance and finesse are welcome and Geranium Odorata definitely delivers the goods. The bottom line is the $98 per 100ml bottle Geranium Odorata may not bring anything new to the table, but what it lacks in innovation it makes up for with its beautiful balance outstanding value and gorgeous fragrance profile earning an "excellent" 4 star out 5 rating and a strong recommendation.

Cheap geranium
Nothing more than a barely decent and kind of loud (not to say screechy) synthetic geranium scent with a rose nuance and a dull cedar-ambery base, also tinged with a whiff of something reminding me of ambergris – something salty, musky and slightly animalic. Maybe some incense too. No relevant evolution and quite a long, annoyingly artificial persistence. I wouldn’t define it “tragic” but it is really a bit too much close to an overpriced floor cleaner or a really, really cheap mainstream fragrance to make some sense as a niche perfume – especially for the price.

In the pharmacy with Fabrice Pellegrin
What is the difference between geranium and Bourbon geranium? I would be glad to know, but GERANIUM ODORATA is completely enjoyable even without this information.

The scent opens with geranium and a slight pharmacy odor with mint freshness. As if we entered an old pharmacy, we are spoiled by the herbs, glossy worn wood furnitures and geranium (approximately 10000 ton, more or less). Rich and complex. So we could say it is a shady, old fragrance. The base is metallic and shiny.

The scent and especially the longevity and sillage depends on the place of skin. On wrist it lasts half an hour. On elbow or more hidden places of the body it is extremely strong (1-2 meters) and long lasting.

I consider GERANIUM ODORATA a female perfume, or maybe old men could wear it with dignity. It landed on my wish-list, the best geranium fragrance in my opinion. Of course it must be excellent... As I realized, it was made by Fabrice Pellegrin, most of his creatures are on my wish-list or I already own them (Essences Insensées, Safanad, Womanity).

This type of geranium is lemon-like instead of soapy or rosy. Wears like any light and refreshing citrus scent.

Green, yet delicate geranium. Becomes a bit grassy-bitter as it develops, but without becoming scratchy. Pleasantly refreshing on hot days.

No rose in this? Cause that's all I smell. Strong clean rose and a persistent cologney citrus.
