Peaches & Champagne
This is a very lovely fragrance accented by two main notes: Champagne and (even though it's not listed in the notes) Peach. My skin usually hates boozy notes. They turn metallic and masculine on me. And yet, the champagne note in this is present just enough to make it interesting. Nothing more. On me, the clean but succulent peach note is amplified. Thank God! :o) If I had to sum up my overall impression, it would be: Peaches & Cream warmed up by champagne. This isn't one of those dime-a-dozen fragrances. It truly is a unique and pretty perfume. I like it even better than Dalissime which used to be my favorite clean-peach perfume until now. But because of the booze note, I recommend testing it out first. It could play tricks with your chemistry.

Peachy keen
I was initially disappointed with Fancy, Jessica Simpson's first international fragrance release, because although it was pleasant, I found it far too similar to Britney Spears Fantasy and Aquolina's Pink Sugar. Fancy Love on the otherhand is truly delightful and different. A fragrance that I'm enjoying wearing.

Fancy Love opens with delicate notes of peach blossom and jasmine, highlighted by a rich, aromatic glass of sparkling champagne. I love this somewhat alcoholic opening, however for those not familiar with the aroma of champagne, they may find themselves a little sickened by the smell.

Towards the heart, Fancy Love is quite creamy and lush. It's like an almost edible blend of floral accords and whipped cream without the sugar. This fragrance is lovely in all kinds of weather, however it suits Spring and Autumn the best.

On cool skin, Fancy Love is mostly floral and creamy, however on warm skin, a deliciously fizzy peach and frangipani blend comes to the fore. On my skin, unfortunately Fancy Love is quite linear, however when I breathe hot air onto my wrist, the scent shows signs of complexity.

The longevity is fantastic, really surprising when you consider how inexpensive this fragrance is. I'm really liking Fancy Love, and while I will use up the rest of the sample, it will take time to decide whether it's full bottle worthy.

An Affable, Generic Sweet Floriental Frag
Jessica Simpson FANCY LOVE is much better to my nose than FANCY. First, it's not just another synthetic sandalwood vanilla scent, so that's already a plus. But I also find the ingredients to be more stable and nose friendly. FANCY LOVE, like FANCY, does eventually begin to take a turn toward the stale side, but it takes quite a bit longer, which means that it is at least possible to wear this perfume, in contrast to FANCY, which just seems gross to me from start to finish.

All of this could be a matter of skin chemistry, I recognize, but what really matters is not what everyone else says but how we feel when we wear a perfume. FANCY LOVE feels like an affable somewhat sweet and generic floriental fragrance, but it does not make me dash to the bath. I cannot say that I would want a large bottle of this creation, but it is at least comprehensible to me why someone might.

The quality of components seems to matter to some reviewers but not others. So, for example, in The Holey [sic] Book, certain By Kilian perfumes, which are made of top-notch ingredients, receive two stars, while Jessica Simpson FANCY, a seriously low-brow juice factory (Parlux) product which is not original in any way, garners three stars. Again, Hermès HIRIS and Lalique LE PARFUM are trashed as one-star disasters, despite the fact that they are real and unique perfumes made of quality ingredients.

In the end, I don't see a lot of logic behind such star allocations. But I happen to care about the quality of components, and I do not think that a perfumer who creates a composition which I happen not to like has committed some sort of crime. When all is said and sniffed, we have different tastes! I give perfumers credit for using high-quality ingredients, even if their particular creation is not my idea of the perfect assemblage of notes.

On the other hand, even the best idea can be ruined through the use of shoddy materials. That is what I find in the Jessica Simpson perfume line, although, FANCY LOVE is much better than FANCY and neither seems very original to me. FANCY NIGHTS is by far the best of the three since at least it involves a new idea.

Sparkly and Flirty
Fancy Love reminds me of those delicious body sprays from Victoria Secret that I used to have in abundance. Yummy peach and creamy floral notes are lovely in this scent and toped up nicely with a sparkling champagne note. There is something flirty and sensual about this combination, which makes it a great companion for a romantic evening with the candles and sensual white lace lingerie. I would not call this scent complex or dramatic but it smells very pleasant. People around me seem to like it and I always get compliments when I wear it.

I find the scent to be linear and after the effervescent and bubbly champagne note opening, Fancy Love settles into a creamy, delectable scent with very soft floral trail and peachy notes. When I look at the floral notes, I would expect this to be a powerhouse bouquet, but it is really not. I cannot even distinguish individual floral notes - it is more like a sheer floral mist. The scent stays very close to the skin but it does last for 8 hours.

I recommend Fancy Love if you are into soft floral fruity gourmand scents. It is pleasant and definitely a crowd-pleaser. I think Fancy Love delivers good value for the price.
