Gabriela Sabatini (born 1970 in Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine professional tennis player.
She began playing tennis at the age of 6. Her first tournament victory followed two years later. In 1983, at the age of 13, Sabatini became the youngest winner of the traditional under-18 Orange Bowl. In all, the Argentine won six junior Grand Slam titles and was ranked the best junior player in the world in 1984.
In 1985, Sabatini, who had just turned 15, was the youngest player to reach the semifinals of the French Open up to that time. In the late 80s and 90s, she was one of the best tennis players in the world. Gabriela Sabatini stayed in the top ten of the world rankings for ten years. Her professional career lasted from 1985 to 1996.
After finishing her tennis career, Sabatini established herself as a successful businesswoman. In 1989, at the age of 18, she had already granted the Mülhens company, now Wella, a license for a fragrance series under her name. Gabriela Sabatini can be seen as a pioneer of the marketing concept of launching a fragrance under the name of a celebrity.
