Interesting Facts
The American cosmetics label "Philosophy" is one of the few niche brands that combine their passion for fragrance with scientific knowledge.
The brand goes back to Cristina Carlino, who was already considered an expert in dermatology before "Philosophy". She had already developed "Bio Medic", a skincare collection mainly used in beauty and skincare clinics. She then founded "Philosophy" in 1996. The new label is, according to her, a "wellness-beauty brand" that, within a few years, has become indispensable for doctors, clinics, beauty farms, and wellness temples.
Cristina Carlino started the range at "Philosophy" with a facial cleanser. Due to its scientific basis, the brand quickly got lots of attention. The advertising figure Oprah Winfrey did the rest. Two exquisite fragrances quickly followed, and in 1998, "Philosophy" began researching several products for bath and shower (bubble baths, shampoo, soap, shower gel, etc.).
"Philosophy" dermatological care products became known to a particularly wide audience through the shopping channel "QVC", with which the label has been cooperating since 2000. At the same time, the range expanded with skin repair and anti-aging products. "Philosophy" was also the first label in the world to launch a "universal shower gel" that can also be used as a shampoo and bubble bath.
In 2010, "Philosophy" was sold by "The Carlyle Group" to "Coty, Inc.". However, due to the modification of fragrance recipes, many customers were subsequently bothered. New fragrances, aromas, and product lines were launched, which gradually restored the label's reputation.

Now I'm looking at a bottling of "Amazing Grace (Eau de Toilette) | Philosophy". I have to admit that this bottling must be older, otherwise I can't explain this dark, extracted color. The top note is also very contrary to the fragrance pyramid, but at least...
