Interesting Facts
The label "Puma" is probably one of the best-known sporting goods manufacturers in the world. However, it is less known that "Puma" has a "bigger brother".

As early as 1923, the brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler founded their shoe factory that exclusively produced sports and running shoes. The shoes were developed by Rudolf Dassler, while Adolf Dassler handled the marketing side. After a forced break due to the Second World War, the two brothers separated. Adolf Dassler founded "Adidas", while Rudolf Dassler christened his company "Puma" in January 1949 with his nickname from his youth.

The first football boots (1948) were followed by innovative models in 1952 with the first screw-in cleats, and from then on, there were new and improved football shoes for every World Cup.

The well-known advertising figures and athletes such as Pelé, Diego Maradona, Boris Becker, Martina Navrátilová, Lothar Matthäus, and Heike Drechsler wore "Puma" shoes with the 1957 patented Puma logo and largely contributed to the overall success of the brand.

After years of success, the "Puma" collection expanded to include functional sports and leisurewear at the end of the 1960s. Rudolf Dassler, the "Puma", passed away in 1974, which is why the brand passed into the hands of his two sons.

Other than sports shoes, Puma now offers outerwear, underwear, socks, and accessories (backpacks, caps, watches, sunglasses, fragrances, etc.) for men, women, and children.
