Interesting Facts

The fragrance label's history dates back to the early 20th century. Germaine Madeline Duval, a highly sought-after model and strong-willed woman, met the adventurous traveler René Duval, who was in the service of perfumer François Coty, during a crossing to the US.

A love story between the two led to the foundation of the "Volnay" perfume house in 1919. The label displays an endless passion for luxury, elegance, and prestige, paired with aspects of art, culture, architecture, and fashion.

Quickly, the professional world became aware of "Volnay" from London and Brussels to Milan and New York to Paris and Buenos Aires. By 1937, the success story included more than 20 fragrances presented in artistically high-quality flacons.

The company went quiet for a long time during and post-World War II and eventually resumed its operations in 2013 when Muriel and Olivier Madeline, the great-grandchildren of the company's founder, breathed new life into "Volnay."

Based on the original recipes, the brand was carefully modernized without losing sight of the original values. As a result, six other fragrances were released between 2013 and 2017, and their flacons now have a uniform round design.

The label mainly offers women's fragrances, with "Violette" being the only unisex fragrance. But all fragrances are a journey through time with sophistication and passion, always relevant then and now.

"Volnay" offers its perfumes on beauty portals, drugstores, special fragrance stores, good retailers, and on its homepage.
