Interesting Facts
Washington Tremlett has a rich history of tradition and world-famous customers. In 1870, the company was founded in Paris. Those who know the fragrances will wonder if this was a spelling mistake. But a short time later, in 1882, the London branch was founded on Savile Row. Even today, Washington Tremlett shares the street with renowned bespoke tailors, including Richard Anderson and Ozwald Boateng.

By the 1960s, Washington Tremlett was the premier destination for dress shirts. But the company achieved lasting fame primarily through the wardrobe fittings in "My Fair Lady" and the invention of the necktie in its present form. It came about because an American customer ordered a "slightly different necklace" in 1892.

The men's fragrance "Black Tie" and the fragrance "My Fair Lady" created as a counterpart are a reminder of this past, because the days as a well-known address for clothing are over. Today, Washington Tremlett is known for its noble fragrances, which suggest nothing of the company's origins in Paris - they are British through and through.
