Interesting Facts
The French brand Zadig & Voltaire is one of the so-called niche brands in the fashion industry, but this is not as negative as it sounds at first. The company is much more a splash of color in the fashion world, serving a need between haute couture and prêt-à-porter.

Zadig & Voltaire was founded in 1997 by Thierry Gillier, a descendant of Lacoste founder André Gillier. Initially, Gillier was concerned with wearable fashion that would be distinct and suitable for everyday wear, drawing inspiration from Parisian women. In 2006, designer Cecilia Bönström joined the brand and worked to refine the unusual style. At the same time, the in-house women's fashion was extended to men, and later to children.

Some would describe the design at Zadig & Voltaire as the perfect balance between slightly elegant and detail-oriented. According to Bönström, customers want (and get) the same high-quality fashion, but always in new styles. At the same time, the casual fashion at Zadig & Voltaire is not bound by any rules: for example, jackets, t-shirts, etc. can be worn by her and him, whichever way they want.
