Autumn Garden

The Acqua Colonia fragrances had partly flashed me - partly they made me feel flowery.
That's why I'm careful when testing.

But the saffron-iris combination is very successful.

Two ingredients only - but they've got it.

Intense and powdery - earthy my surprised nose receives the iris, which is still rooted in the soil.
That's the scent of my autumn garden, which a shower of rain has just passed over.
The saffron blends in gently - and refines the fragrance.

I don't need to go out in the wet garden, but I get it into the house by means of the fragrance.
An outdoor - indoor scent so to speak.

" Relaxing " is written on the cover - and I have to agree with that.

Saffron & Iris radiates peace and tranquillity - just like a walk in the soft autumn rain.

Music to this : Under an umbrella in the evening...

At least the purple in the label flashes me

The Acqua Colonia series from 4711 has hit really well. At least the idea of creating and offering fresh Cologne fragrances with two main players under the 4711 label is not wrong. At least a few more than usable duos have emerged, such as Mandarine & Cardamom or Lavender & Thyme, whereby the latter unfortunately disappeared quite quickly from the German market, because allegedly the demand was not sufficient. In other countries, this refreshing thyme-lavender combination is much more appreciated.

What I like about Saffron & Iris is not only the attractive purple label, but also the consistent retention of the freshness theme. Of course, in addition to the two main actors, there is a citric and bergamot-like accompanying tone, which refers to the origin of the house 4711 and makes the composition summery and fluffy, but officially invites you to relax.

Unfortunately, hardly anything is noticeable from the saffron. And also the iris is less powdery as one would believe it, but rather on the edge of synthetics. This saddens the mood a little, even if this Acqua Colonia offshoot with its lovely, gentle and minimally harsh nature exudes at least a good mood. Although this flowery-spicy mixture is declared as unisex, which is true, the tendency then goes more in the direction of young Fräulein (can you even say that nowadays without being branded by feminists?) than in the direction of bachelors.

Sooner or later I will personally search for Lavender & Thyme, even if I don't like that purple as much as Saffron & Iris does.
