It's Late August in Tuscany Somewhere
If you've ever heard that expression "It's 5 O'clock PM" somewhere" meaning license to have happy hour Campari, Martinis and Pim's cocktails has been granted...then you'll understand the title of this review. This fragrance is solid, in the elegant style of the great powerhouse perfumeries of days of yore. Bitter dry citrus sits on a grand duchess of Rose and freesia providing a fresh introduction to a stern magnolia that is not dreamy and balmy as a magnolia blossom in the breeze, but is unique, none-the-less. Bitter dry green neroli leaf winds down a dusty path of a rocky Tuscany landscape and I feel I am on another magnificent Aqua di Parma vicarious Italian adventure. This is a beautiful scent for an emotionally mature individual - day or night, Summer or Winter...this becomes part of One's identity. It has a mint julep-i-ness to it as it goes into the second hour that is cooling in the late summer heat and refreshing to the senses. I will have to try this again on a long dusty mountain trail hike in a white cotton dress followed by a fantasy picnic of green-figs, cheese, Limonata and Grappa to know if it suites me personally. All I know is that is a highly refined, elegant scent for a sophisticated Cary Grant or Audrey Hepburn type and if you are considering becoming such an icon...this will be of great assistance in your journey.
