The edge of history
When the citrus masters of Acqua di Parma title their new cologne "Futura" and advertise it, the industry and fans alike sit up and take notice. What do the old-fashioned and actually always enormously timeless Italians understand by future-proof in "their" sector?
Basically just classic, minimally facelifted and with a new underbody. "Colonia Futura" is Italian class combined with fougerefreedom of bygone days and maybe minimal supercooled cyberattitude. But this last association can also only come from its name in my very special head cinema. But Genoa needs internet, too. Herbaceous, mossy, with more oomph in the cross, more wood behind the cabin. But without any doubt and instantly recognizable still a crystal clear Acqua di Parma. With all its strengths and weaknesses. Vetiverdrydown for which every stylish suit jumps in the triangle. Tart and yet inviting. Minimally rather masculine. Tingling dryness. Between Provence and Tuscany - there are worse nose holidays!
Flacon: Parma halt
Sillage: futuristic-minimalist
Durability: from hour 5 only a hint of drydown
Conclusion: the future is actually not much different than the past? People don't learn? Parma always works? History repeats itself? "Colonia Futura" is a constant pointer that well-made colognes will probably never go out of fashion... I heard it through the grapefruit vine
