Diorminguez Homme Cologne Fresca
Adolfo Dominguez's "Agua Fresca", which can therefore be called "classic", has many sympathizers on perfume, one of whom is me. A hearty Spanish barbershop with pine, natural look and built-in Spain sympathy.
"Citrus Cedro" didn't have much in common with this "Agua Fresca", despite its name. For my nose it is very clearly based on Dior's "Homme Cologne", could almost be considered a more spiced, "Spanish" interpretation of the French freshness.
"I loved to wear "Homme Cologne" in the summer of 2013, then I quickly got over it. But a little too artificial and with too simple a scent.
"Citrus Cedro" is the better "Homme Cologne": Its opening is practically identical to Dior. Blue-citric-plastic-grapefruit. A transparent citrus note with too much laboratory flavour.
The heart note then becomes flowery like the Dior - also smells practically identical - and yet is a bit more pleasant to me. Because Dominguez has added spice and pith. Pepper and ginger stand's, is however rather an abstract spicy woodiness. Perfume ginger. But it skillfully reduces the "grapefruit blossom" artificial sweetness that I now abhor at Dior Cologne. "Citrus Cedro" is much more masculine here than the androgyne Dior.
Basis: Light musk, fresh-abstract cedar, which I otherwise despite the name hardly notice and as the preface also notes, some incense. Also here a bit paradoxical: Somehow the same Drydwon as at Cologne. But with skill added a Spanish masculine layer.
Dominguez is composed and produced in-house at Puig and you can see that absolute professionals with the whole range of fragrances are at work here. The price says nothing here about the quality, it simply gets rid of the advertising and the Dior premium.
If you like Homme Cologne, don't hesitate to try this alternative, which seems somewhat rounder and more natural overall. And those who like "Agua Fresca" will also appreciate the small reminiscences in this clearly "modern" fragrance.

I don't feel offended.
At this point you don't have to go too far and can simply list the points that speak for "Citrus Cedro": The fragrance is without a secret, but pleasantly does not act as if it were a mountain. A grapefruity prelude with fresh cedar, slightly peppery but not overstuffed. Such two-tone fragrances are appreciated by my nose, which is olfactorically permanently overtaxed by the world. Gives bonus points. The fragrance essentially changes the proportions of head and base, so it becomes a little more woody, while the durability, as it is for an agua fresca, is not enormous. In contrast to many designer freshies, dominant ozone aquatics are avoided here. This means: You can feel at any time (especially in the drydown) that this is a contemporary fragrance, but without a classic fanatic like me feeling bothered. The lady of the house even had a delicate association of incense. This newcomer for the last warm summer weeks you can get for less than 20€/60ml according to a quick net search. So you can do it. Another half bonus point.
This isn't a hymn of praise: The fragrance is (in a good sense) highly average (so actually, without bonus points: 5 points), which is why I would still advise anyone interested in a summer refreshment to visit the "Acqua Colonia" series of 4711 or Farina across the street. This cheap freshness topic has been solved more interestingly for 300 years.

With thanks to the lovely Azahar for the sample (but according to her scent evaluation she certainly doesn't miss the scent...).

The first two hours are exactly (!) like Voyage d’Hermes - a bit too peppery for me. The following two hours a clean barbershop scent.+1
