The Gift Vol. 2
And once again, contrary to my warnings that I have so many fragrances and really don't want to be given any new ones (at least not without first knowing my preferences), I got a birthday fragrance. This time, however, I was not so scared because I had never heard the brand before. At least it didn't seem like something you could normally find at the drugstore. In addition it came that the company is probably from the Emirates and my interest became all the larger.
The presentation is very simple, but still a bit chic. The package I received as a gift contains a deodorant, an eau de cologne and an eau de parfum. But they all smell the same (maybe the deodorant is a bit more synthetic than the other fragrances). But how does it smell now? If you research Fragrantica, you will stumble across comparisons like Allure Blanche, Bleu de Chanel, Fierce and even Costa Azzurra. To be honest, I think that's all bullshit.
The fragrance is simple. Sprayed on and the first thing you feel is the bergamot. Lavender, if only in the background. I might be able to see the watermelon, even if it seems a little synthetic. The fragrance begins very fruity fresh and slowly goes in a slightly floral direction (probably due to the heart notes). For me the fragrance also has a slightly aquatic vibe, but I would describe it much more as sweetly fresh. The light blue presentation fits in any case very well to the smell. Towards the end, the fragrance becomes even warmer, as the discreet mix of sandalwood, musk and amber makes it very pleasant to wear off. I can hardly describe it, but the transition to one's own skin odour is very smooth and almost imperceptible.
Now the fragrance is certainly no revelation. But there's no way he's bad either. Personally, I like it pretty much, because it's really not complicated and it's a safe choice especially at temperatures above 30°C. I find the decision to put an EdC and an EdP in the same box very strange, but also practical, because I spray my clothes with the EdC and myself with the EdP.
Durability and Sillage are quite weak at EdC. The EdP, however, lasts quite a long time for such a light summer scent and is well perceptible. I still think it is very suitable for summer, because it is not too pushy and the sweetness is never excessive. I see the scent for use during the day, whether it's school, work, sport or active outdoor days. It's one of those scents that "always goes".
On the subject of twin fragrances: As I said before, there are the wildest comparisons on Fragrantica. A user has written that the fragrance has a certain confidentiality. Never could it be seen as a dupe to BdC or Fierce or the others, but it really has something of the base that these fragrances share. Shower gel? I might. But very fresh, clean and pleasantly sweet. Funnily enough, the scent reminds me from time to time of "Ice Dive (Eau de Toilette)" by Adidas. But you also have to say that I last tested Ice Dive about 10 years ago and I could be completely wrong. But if my memories don't let me down, Ajmal Blu sometimes reminds me of a less synthetic, but warmer and more upscale version of Ice Dive.
Not a masterpiece, for me actually also zero oriental character, but nevertheless a quite solid scent, which I will wear in summer very gladly. This time it worked with the gift!
