Very artificial smelling rose/oud combo
Aseel is the 13th Al-Rehab EDP Spray I tried, and while I generally think that this house makes some really nice cheapies, this is just not it. It smells like a bad cliché of Arabian cheapies. Soapy rose that reminds me of detergent or fabric softener straight out of the bottle and a harsh, very synthetic oud. I know most ouds used in perfumes are synthetic and I don't mind at all, I even enjoy some Montales and similar fragrances, but this smells really artificial and metallic with a sterile medicine vibe (I guess some saffron also plays a part in that). It's not gross in the way more animalic ouds can be, but very sharp and abrasive.
Caramel? Vanilla? Nope, I don't get that at all. Are the notes on here maybe mixed-up?
If you're really into sharp, clean, cold rose and oud combos, this might be worth a try, but if this is not your favorite genre, I think it's fine to skip Aseel. Maybe the oil is nicer than the spray. And I could imagine that it would be better suited to men, even though I wouldn't want my husband to smell like this either.
