As The Flowing Water Of A Mountain Stream
The flow of a mountain stream is difficult to follow, uniquely when it weaves in and out of the channel, flowing through streambanks and seeping through the streambed. While flowing belowground, the stream water mixes with groundwater in the riparian aquifer before reemerging in the channel, sometime later and further downstream. Underground, the water undergoes filtration, nutrient cycling, and temperature moderation. Alcott White Edition captures all those aromas and sensations into its white pristine bottle.

Compared to its predecessor Alcott Black Edition, White is an out-off-the-shower cologne, green, brisk, fresh, and watery like a crisp, clean breeze blowing evenly over a calm liquid accord of almost-icy green tea currants. It's like the dissolution of winter's last snow and the life that begins to bloom again. Genderless to me, perfectly balances crisp & sharp citric notes with warming wild berries and sweet musk. If you smell Alcott White Edition out of the bottle, the first note that caresses your nostril is an iced herbal green tea, reminiscent of the primary accord introduced by the original CK One, with a pinch of sublime bitter blackcurrant in the background, which I cherish cause it is not at all too sweet, yet floral and leafy blackcurrant, and then some tasty citrusy accord from gorgeous bergamot, mandarine orange, and lastly creamy lemon, which does not stick around for a long time. Inside this marvellous whipped creamy blend, I get slightly metallic and inky tones, pleasant, a sort of snowy mountain water, not salty, not seaweed, but mineral. I don't mind what other reviewers have to say about the ink note. I find the blackcurrant and tea pair to be phenomenal. This juice lifts my mood and takes my mind and spirit to a better place! The opening to me is very airy, clean, and crisp.

The heart pursues with the right amount of aromatic to keep it gender-neutral after the flamboyant top settles down. The blackcurrant note persists in the centre while the citrus slowly fades. The green tea note comes more and more and mixes with the blackcurrant and the sweet floral neroli blossom. The overall effect is not at all soapy, herbal, or powdery, instead of an inky note, somewhat astringent and perhaps even a little smoky. Instead, it retains it has this sheen, at times almost metallic under some aspect liken Azzaro Chrome.

And finally, the dry sandalwood begins bridging this development of the top and middle stages to the ambergris base. As it turns out, the musky base is so beautiful, a sort of airy, delicate, and sophisticated musk with a touch of sandalwood that gives it a fresh laundry feeling. They are like different scented dryer sheets. The base features plenty of ambroxan, again not just too sweet but also detectable and a la Dior Sauvage.

Alcott White Edition feels very casual yet elegant to me, not like something you'd wear only on special occasions. Perfect for spring and summertime, both during the day and evening out. It has such a cold, crisp, and fresh feel. The projection is excellent for the first couple of hours and then fades to a more modest for the next hours, but its longevity is not tremendous. This scent creates a pleasant aura around you without being too much in your face or filling up an entire room.

Of the hundreds and hundreds of perfumes I have worn in the past 40 years, this has made me receive the most compliments. Some argue that it is a pure and boring fragrance, but it couldn't be further from the truth. It is an extremely well-rounded fragrance, sensual, and intimate. It is as simple as in primal.

This review is based upon a 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) bottle I own.
