A solid newcomer
As my colleague in the office has a sensitive nose and I was sent from the brewery to the office as a vacation replacement, I needed a discreet and unobtrusive fragrance. The Hei Eau de Toilette did a solid job. It is as unobtrusive as it is striking. The sillage is rather mediocre, but the longevity is absolutely okay at 6 to 8 hours.

The top note starts off alcoholic and synthetic. It then smells decidedly maritime and fresh like shower gel with a hint of bergamot. The heart note is a little lavender with a hint of cardamom. If I compare the fragrance pyramid with the base note, I find it very difficult. Perhaps it smells subtly woody here and somewhere very hidden slightly vanilla-like, but otherwise it is more of a subtle and still aquatic finish.

If you are looking for a solid and inexpensive everyday fragrance, you should "take a sniff" here. I would like to thank Carsten for the bottling :-)

Heaven by Chopard Cologne
Heaven light!
Anyone who knows how the masterpiece men's perfume "Heaven by Chopard" from the 90s smells will have with the headline immediately a nasal inspiration as Hei smells.
And anyone who knows the decade perfume Heaven will rub their fingers, because he now for a cracker price finally gets something to the neck what can be compared deservedly with Heaven.
For those who don't know Heaven. It was discontinued and is one of the fragrances that the gentlemen community mourns with the most after.
100ml were last traded for 500 €, if you get it at all. There comes even Gucci Envy not with. Heaven is a masterpiece that goes under the radar. Less known than a Cool Water, but at least as celebrated.
Joop Nightflight smells similar to Heaven.

With Hei, you get a fragrance that comes in a very sophisticated bottle, has an above-average sprayer, and has a minimalist aesthetic name.
Hei is worth every one of the few cents, if you keep in mind that it is a Heaven Cologne/Light. It doesn't last 10 hours like Heaven did back in the day. It also doesn't have as strong a glow as Heaven.
But what perfume does these days?
Not even the extract de parfums have the radiance of the 80/90s.
If you put on an eau de toilette in the 80s and 90s it was equivalent to a spatial nuclear detonation, which caused a bomb squad to secure the area and seal it off for three days until further notice.
I'm just saying
Trussardi Uomo (which I offer as an original in the souk by the way!), Kouros, Davidoff no.1, Boss no. 1, Gucci Nobile etc.
To get there these days it already needs a 2019 Creed Aventus or MFK Baccarat Rouge or PDM Pegasus.
So with a shelf life of about 5 hours and a sillage of about 1 hour, you can be quite satisfied to get a men's fragrance so cheap.
In direct comparison, I can say the following:
The association to Heaven is immediately there, as soon as one applies Hei.
It is more discreet, lighter, airier.
But there's also something missing from the scent. When you put on a scent like Heaven or MFK BR you have a kind of tingling magic powder cloud around you. A kind of stardust that beguiles the senses.
There is no other way to describe it. This nasal impression is difficult for me to put into words and few fragrances create this magic. Hei can not deliver that.
BUT
Only decade fragrances can do that!
Still, Hei is a good perfume.
Fresh, airy, aquatic with a more floral note than Heaven. It's less heavy than Heaven. It is lighter but less beguiling. It has the sweetness of Tonka, but less so. It is a bright scent for a positive feeling. "Uplifting. Goes anywhere. Casual, office, date. Even at the club in the summer.

Clubs? These are the places where you are social, meet people and kiss even if you have a cold.
Anyway it can't rain all the time.

Moving on...
Three sprays on the body (neck / ears) and two on clothes let me perceive the scent outside even after an hour at intervals on myself. Also something I miss today in fragrances.
Nevertheless, it is skin deep after an hour.
Off to Cancun Mexico in a few days. No face diaper and social cordon for fake pandemics, and indoctrinated fear neurotics. Since I want to see what the ladies say after 2 hours and whether there are compliments

Walking On The Chinese Wall
A YouTuber turned me on to Alfred Sung Homme cologne as one of the best blinds buys below 30 euro, and while searching for that one, I stumbled into Hei, which instantly gained my attention. To begin with, the bottle is cutesy, egg-shaped like that of Cabotine de Grès but with the upper part narrower than the bottom, which makes it more similar to a kind of raindrop. The glass is sheer and contains a light mineral-blue-violet juice. Just to give you a hint, Hei (2002) is on par with Nautica Voyage (2006), they have some vibes in common and share the same green-floral-amber-musk path, yet they are not a clone of one another. Hei takes its inspiration by traditional Feng Shui Chinese culture, very close to nature, water, earth, wood, and metal. It reminds me of a dawn walk on the Chinese Wall, in the middle of a bamboo forest, the water flowing gently from a stream, the grass covered by the early morning dew, and all around the Wall surrounded by redolent white jasmine flowers.

The cologne belongs to the aromatic fern family and warms up on my skin with a licorice-like vibe with fresh, clean, herbal, and salty facets. I do get plenty of aqueous and wet leafy accord, the green freshness of the bamboo shines, which is fine with me since I love the verdant and grassy aroma of that evergreen plant. I notice a powdery accord that lingers for a spot, I think it is coming from the bergamot blended with violet leaves. These potentially clean and bright notes come through a little creamy, soapy, and powdery. There is a minty undertone, though, the opening is all too aqueous and herbal. All the greens are balanced and blended nicely, and this stage brings an uplifting sensation the moment you spray it on.

This aura so light does not last long, and soon it deepens into something darker, heavier, and ale. Fennel presents itself with its slightly aromatic and rustic tone of anise. The flowery jasmine blends with the powdery blue lavender and the sweet-honeyed and a little metallic neroli. This bouquet is topped with a handful of spicy green cardamom gems mixed with pungent feathery leaves of sour dill so that the floral accord is not too feminine. The florals are not striking but add a slight sweetness to the body, which is delightful. The middle stage is akin to luscious scent in the air after a summer rain, but with a little more character.

When the dry down arrives it will catch you with an oriental take full of sweet amber and roasted tonka bean. Some woodiness comes from cedarwood and reddish mahogany with the light rainforest type of smell, and a noble touch of animal white musk that appears in the final stage when the perfume has become as one with the skin and lasts until the scent disappears.

To me, Hei is a slightly watery green herbal with an ever so gentle oriental finish, a very amicable and composed fragrance. A bit like a bar of soap with a floral undertone slightly woody, not too sweet, instead it is green and flower inside. Good with a unique smell of spearmint and bamboo. This could be considered an aquatic, yet is a bit classier, and nowhere near as obnoxious as the more popular ones. Comfortable to wear because it is not offensive, could be worn during the warmer months, perfect for a bright sunny day, for that weekend of being out and about, or better for office, and informal parties. I think this hasn't excellent longevity, just subtle. Where one may damn Hei as weak, another may laud it as delicate. Hei captures the scents of nature quite well, but like a fresh breeze carrying scent, it surrounds you full of life, and then is gone, leaving only a hint of what it was and a beautiful memory and experience. A blind buy that worth it.

Watery and soft
I stumbled across this fragrance in a local chemist being sold rather cheaply. I was a little dubious at first, however I wanted to buy my man something so I decided to give it a try.

I find the scent to be very similar to Cool Water by Davidoff, I think it's because of the lavender note. I consider that a good thing because both my man and I love Cool Water.

Hei is a refreshing, clean and rather sexy scent. I figured that since my boyfriend already had Cool Water I would buy Hei in the deoderant and aftershave balm rather than the fragrance. When he blended and layered the two it was difficult to tell the difference.

Hei is a fabulous fragrance for those warmer months because it is so light and casual. The lasting strength is also wonderful.

I don't regret buying Hei products for my boyfriend, yet sometimes I wish that women weren't so attracted to the scent. He certainly receives many compliments and interested women when he wears this fragrance.
