The nightmare in a bottle ?

Unfortunately, I have to say here right up front that I unfortunately bought Opus X blind, which I see almost as a cardinal error of myself to my nose. I was really quite enchanted when I opened this beautiful packaging at the beginning, immediately Opus X was sprayed on. I have to take a deep breath here about what happened next. I was flooded by a wave of unpleasant smells, it just smells like cold metal over which someone would have poured nail polish remover, I thought okay just a flop, but after 20-30 minutes came then somehow to this metallic note increasingly also the rose and the leather. I get really nausea there now still the note of blood and a knocked over paint bucket added and beside this paint bucket a Mahler was badly hurt and loses much blood it is really the nightmare in the Flakon. I have never smelled anything close to bad, unfortunately this one really makes me feel very nauseous. I just can't wear Opus X, it just smells so incredibly repulsive to me. The perfume is really a crime against the nose, now for the finale of it all. I was unfortunately so stupid and have worn the whole thing on a birthday, even my girlfriend slid away from me with the chair, because she could hardly stand it. I was also addressed what I wear there againliches from acquaintances and friends. I felt now uncomfortable, so I spent the evening outside with the smokers there I am at least not noticed because the cigarette smell has managed to displace Opus X, now 4 hours had passed and Opus X still showed what is in him full performance with very strong projection. The whole thing ended with an offer from the host that I could use his shower if I wanted, which I actually did. I just couldn't stand myself with Opus X anymore. I really didn't think I could find a perfume that bad. I can honestly not imagine the perfume on a man at all, on a woman Opus X could go even more. I can only say for me never again Opus X in my whole life I am really disgusted by this fragrance

Gardening in the garden?

That's how it felt for the first time.
The sample a lot in my mailbox. Thanks to a super nice perfume for that and for many others :D

Sprayed on and immediately thought of my first apprenticeship in the retail trade in the field of Polynatura Garden (plants).

It's a beautiful and sunny spring day. My training consisted not only of the consultation for new plants or their accessories, but also of doing some presentations. And that's exactly what I did. The sun shone in my face, the first rays of heat shone. Finally, that's what I'm thinking. However, I know that the hot summer will come again. At the latest when I see the wagons full of geraniums. They look great on the tables and on a windowsill. Even though it's not my favorite flower, I think it's fine.
Oh, a yellow leaf out there. Oops. A green one just so plucked off. And there he is. That's the one. The first splash of Opus X. That's it. This scent rises up my nose. The scent of this leaf, which I accidentally whacked off with. The smell of that geranium.
It never flies away. The memory of this teaching. And it also does not fly out of my nose or on the test strip. Bright and strong.
After a good 10-15 minutes I smell the geranium smell less and oud comes out. A mixture of rose and oud as well as the small accent of this geranium scent remains.

Nice memory. If I'll wear the scent, I'll see then

Crazy, but good

Cocoa, chewing gum, caraway. Hmm. A bit resin. It is not normal, a completely crazy, amok-type odor, but I really like it. On the scale it is placed closer to Male than to Female end, but gives the choice to call it Unisex. Especially because of a slight touch of rouge. If OPUS X were a perfume, I would call it slightly gourmand, but it is almost so much spicy as OPUS VIII was.

My collection is sorted by types, so I have separate compartment for spicy, for gourmand, for flowery etc., and I have got a compartment engaged for „unclassifiable” scents, of course I threw OPUS X in that place.

Please do not wear it among people.

Amouage Owes Arturo Fuente an Apology

...for how much they've befouled the name "Opus X".

In case it was in any way unclear, this fragrance is definitely not for me. The big "why" is in the next paragraph, but let's start at the top. This is very much a late-autumn sort of scent, the opening floral bombardment of which reminds me of the smell of damp and decomposition under the top layer of a leaf pile. It's a little too much, and sweet in the wrong sort of way, and it reminds me of decay.

As decaying florals give, way, we arrive at the biggest issue I have... immediately under that blast of detritus, I detect something that give me the same "queasy in my stomach" feeling that the Blood Concept Type O gave me. Although they smell nothing alike, I have seen some people mentioning a "metallic blood accord", so maybe that's what's coming through to me. Either way, it's not "dark" or "intriguing" to my senses, as many have suggested - it is, rather, actively repugnant.

Finally, as the fragrance hits the end of its evolution, it "mellows" out to something that reminds me of one of my mother's friend's houses, where she is always blending up essential oils, rubbing them on herself, and using those stick diffusers to spread them in the air. It's too much perfume, the combined impressions of which are deep and clashing, and the whole thing leaves me with a headache.

Every Amouage fragrance that's come my way has been interesting to me in some way or another, and this one certainly upholds the reputation for complexity. But, unfortunately, these notes just make me feel ill, put-off, and like something is wrong... I couldn't have been gladder to wash it off if it were the actual sludge that collects in a rubbish bin - it is that repellant to my senses.

Very pleased to have ordered a decant, instead of just grabbing the frag like I usually do.

1/10, would not recommend.

Wow paint with rose. A great combination

unique scent not like any other. If you love to paint you will love this one.
There is same metal and old paint scent in it.
Than coms the dry down of a very strong rose.
I have to say that this one smells even the day after and still very good.
This makes me feel unique and mysterious.
The only bad thing is that stupid bottle, it’s heavy and small so you have to keep the bottle between other stuff so it doesn’t fall down every time you take it or touch it. But thats the case with all the opus bottle.
Well still love it because the scent inside is killing.
You will love it or hate it.
