Who has forgotten their lemon sorbet in the freshly mown meadow?
Dear Parfumos,
sometimes you put on a scent and immediately have images in your head - images that try to visually manifest what you have smelled This is what happened this morning in a bathroom, somewhere in the south of Germany...
Since a nice perfumer, who had seen that I was in possession of this fragrance, had asked me a few questions about exactly which one, I wanted to try the practical test (for explanation: I often test newcomers first on an olfactory strip to give me a first impression and then put them on hold until it was their turn...) and answer the questions. So I sprayed a handful of strokes on the designated spots - and there it was...a freshly mowed meadow in late spring (or early summer, as you prefer), on which a large cup of lemon sorbet was placed, garnished with a mint leaf. Now I ask hobby and professional psychologists to spare me behavioural profiles and analyses of my childhood - I would ignore it anyway. But that's what it smelled like to me when I sprayed the sports anime on myself.
For those who don't like such associations, the sober (individual) olfactory analysis: the top note is dominated by hesperides (lemon and bergamot), I can perceive a little mint and sandalwood. After about half an hour the citrus fruits slowly fade into the background, the pear, which I can only guess very vaguely at the beginning, becomes a little stronger. From now on I have this meadow chord, paired with a liquorice chord, in my nose, flanked by the pear - not a bad combination. The sweetness stays within limits, the meadow chord (which I've made out) provides lasting freshness. After about 4 hours the base is reached - here woods and vetiver dominate. The fragrance lasts for about 6 hours, but after about 4 hours it is only faintly perceptible
In itself, the colleague smells quite tasty and the shelf life is ok. But the Sillage is his Achilles' heel: already after one hour the scent is so reserved that I can only smell it when I move my nose very close to my forearm. Since it is so weak on the chest, it is only suitable for me on hot days or for occasions when olfactory restraint is a must. But that is hard to get over for the price (200ml for almost 22 Euronen), because it is qualitatively better than most competitors in this price range....
