Grapefruit is such a hard note to capture well in perfume. Part of its beauty is its sulfurous quality, but too much sulfur makes it unwearable. Pompelmo started out very true to grapefruit, but very much to the tinny-sulfury end of the spectrum. (On one of my tries, it started off smelling a lot like Nair, the depilatory foam.) Eventually, it becomes a pretty rose-tinged bar of grapefruit soap. But the initial smell turns me off so much that I'm not eager to wait for the nice phase.
