For once an oud fragrance that doesn't make me flee

Many thanks to Nick for the bottling of Oud Zhen :-) Here we have an oud fragrance that doesn't drive me into flight. Although I am not thrilled in the end, I am at least a little satisfied. The longevity is strong at around 12 hours and the sillage is successful so far.

The top note starts with a dark and sticky sweetness. It reminds me of ribwort syrup, prunes and a little licorice. The heart note smells oriental, woody, leathery and subtly smoky like oud. It is joined by saffron and a little thyme. The base smells animalistic but also continues to be sweet and vanilla-like with tolu balsam and a hint of cocoa beans.

After my last experiences with oud fragrances, I am relatively mild-mannered here. The Oud Zhen is definitely okay for me.

Thick oud waves bleeding from my wrist...

A smoky chocolate dessert served on an agarwood plate made of Indian oud.

Dense, deep and thick from straight to finish with smooth transitions from top to base.

Fantastic sillage leaving your nose constantly sniffing delicious animalic oud.

Russian Adams best work

#Oud zhen was recommended to me by a Parfumo and just blindly added to the collection. The opening reminds me of incense sticks as they are used eg in temples in Thailand, but more and more notes are added, which develop into an olfactory masterpiece. I am happy every time I smell this fragrance and despite the mass of fragrances I have already tested, only Russian Adam has managed to trigger this feeling.
This smoky oriental DNA which is the base note in most of the fragrances in the current collection really represents a form of art for me.
#Oud Zhen develops beautifully further over the day and is still clearly perceptible after many hours.
The sillage is already very strong after spraying and wraps you in a beautiful cloud, which is but at no time too intrusive.
The bottle also looks mega beautiful and all in all, this fragrance is highly recommended for anyone who really wants to smell times exclusive and sophisticated oud.
