Very helpful Review 11
A wild comparison.... / And its huge potential!
Hello everyone,

after a test of "discreet" 3 months, I would finally like to say something about Danaë Eau de Parfum.

But why did it take soooo long?

I have tested that one at different temperatures in different zones (climatic - on vacation) and why exactly = I have seen some potential in that one since the release (but only now got to test that one properly.

Now for the "wild comparison"!

It is similar to the opening of the Intense Cedrat Boise,
with the really beautiful and nice lemon from Sicily
(and 0.0 after toilet cleaner)!
In the base and the heart note (the drydown) I get
subtle vibe's of the Bleu range from Chanel, but (thankfully!) most
the Bleu de Chanel Parfum and a certain subtle
sweetness and a shower gel vibe.

And I really like that!
Why do people have such a "massive problem" with shower gel fragrances?
I can't say exactly and it's really difficult for me to make a really logical statement about it - but I do have a guess! Many people may think - so I spend 200€ (+) now and now I want something blatant and then say those BUUUUH that's just a shower gel scent and you read this sooooo often...., I'll come to the comments later only that, at the end of the day, many people are actively concerned with the fact that one for the others (has never been my No. 1 aspiration) and that does the Danaë Eau de Parfum very well!
We tend to put certain fragrances in a corner very quickly and everyone can decide for themselves (!), I'll just say this (personal opinion), if I wear a fragrance that appeals to ME and that appeals to those around me - I wonder what the problem is? It should refresh me and this + noble and high quality and if it also lasts a working day of 9h, then I wonder what the problem is...?

Some of you may already have a pretty good idea of what it smells like, but I'll say it again briefly. It's citrusy, very slightly spicy, has a subtle sweetness, lots of noticeable great woods and then after 3 hours you finally notice my favorite note and it's noticeable. The "Mysore - Sandalwood" and it becomes wonderfully creamy and ends after x hours in a refreshing and gentle shower gel fragrance!
Another great job from Argos!

Next to the Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum (nice review available), the Danaë Eau de Parfum is my second fragrance of the brand and it is one that many more people should know!

Because in terms of clean, masculine, long-lasting fragrances for work, I see Danaë Eau de Parfum as one of the top 15 ever (in the field).

When and where else would I recommend it?

But apart from the work or office theme, it really works anytime and anywhere. Even in the beginning of summer, everything is cool. The exception for me (as so often) would be the height of summer. The fragrance is otherwise an absolute "ALWAYS GO" and also in winter, at Christmas, etc. !

How is it received?

Insanely good!
10/10 would almost be an understatement ;)

Far too few people still know its true potential...!

If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

The art of change
Admittedly, Argos has really beautifully designed flacons. It's definitely not a one-size-fits-all, as is so often the case with many. Bottles. Of course, I also like it very simple, but I'm not averse to those that also represent something. The packaging is also a feast for the eyes. In this case, the bottle is adorned with a painting by the famous Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. According to contemporary history, Danaë was created in 1907 and is timeless and full of color, as we know it from Klimt. I personally have some of Klimt's paintings, not real ones of course (laugh), hanging in my hallway and I am still delighted when I look at them. Of course, a little treasure like that goes down well with me. Visually speaking, but what about the content?

The perfume starts off a little bulky, citrusy and woody. It gets right down to business and these two compounds don't give each other anything and build up to such an extent that they are really blown up and pretty much exhaust their potential over time. Because it soon becomes quite different. A very velvety overlay of musk is applied over everything here. Gently sprinkled with pepper and nutmeg. A warm sea breeze blows through the fragrance, allowing it to ride calmly and blissfully on citrusy waves. The initially very rich and bulky woody fragrance becomes much lighter and drifts along. A lovely note of cashmere embeds itself and is firmly embraced by the powerful waves. The atmosphere is silky and shiny. It feels as if you are gliding around on warm, tanned skin with cold fingertips.

Over time, a very pleasant citrus note can be heard again and again, leaving the senses dazed. A true chameleon, which was released here by Argos. The term "art of change" takes on a very clear meaning here.

The fragrance is creamy and sweet on the skin. It releases a few patchouli kisses here and there and lingers on me for a long time before being swept away by musky fluff and low waves. Romantic. Somehow very touching. I don't know how to explain it, but it's a very interesting fragrance. Danäe would probably be delighted too. The scent would also match the painting.

Sparkling and woody?
So, I don't know if sparkling wood is a thing, but Danaë is that. There's a wonderful, citrus effervescent opening, which has a fizzy, almost metallic backing, similarly to Ganymede, or Brass and Soul, but then the dry down goes woody and incense, with a pleasant musk. I put this guy away for the summer, and brought it back out this October, and I really am enjoying it.

Potent musk bomb
This is a bomb of musky woods, which is unsurprising when you read the listed ingredients. Benzyl salicylate (cheap!) is the first ingredient, followed by linalool, THEN alcohol. It's a bit sickening and leans very mature to my nose. I appreciated the artistry of the bottle more than that of the scent.

There's a similarity to PDM Carlisle, which I prefer to this with its smoother scent and saffron/nutmeg spiciness behind the patchouli as opposed to Danae's potent musk. This is a disappointing pass for me.

Danae myth
And also with Danae we have a myth told by a fragrance . An initially citrusy fragrance , which then lays on delicate woods and then becomes soft and sweet.
The persistence and signature trail are very good.
I find in this fragrance a distinctive trait of the brand , which I also found with Adonis , in short an opulent , important fragrance .
It recalls Danae , who was possessed by Zeus who in order to get to her changed into a shower of gold , then making her give birth to the famous hero Perseus .
The moment of the act of love was portrayed by Klimt , in the painting "Danae," in a wonderful golden frame .

There's an element to it that reminds me of a very muted--for the better--version of Tauer's Sundowner. 7/10.

Danaë opens with a creamy citrus, a bit chewingummy. Afterwards, it becomes woody, sweet, creamy. In the drydown, musk dominates the scent.
