Sweet Holy Grail
I have tested myself through some candy-like fragrances and have ultimately landed at SLC.
The bottle is lovely in a soft pastel pink. The round-cubic, crystal-esque shape of the bottle is handy and the plush pompom takes the cake in terms of cuteness. If the bottle is empty at some point, I clip the pastel pompom to my handbag for the extra portion of kitsch in everyday life, which is reflected in my clothing style now and then (but well thoughtfully dosed!) Gladly times.
The fragrance corresponds to the appearance of the bottle and especially the name - Sweet like Candy. He reminds of gummy bears, marshmallows & Co. from beginning to end. Towards the end of the scent I perceive a little shisha smoke with wild berry aroma. Totally great! I'm not a shisha bar goer at all, but I find that a slightly smoky, wicked note adds a touch of sexiness to the scent. Overall, the fragrance comes across as pleasant and in no way overbearing.
The durability and sillage are decent for the price range. In my opinion, all Ariana fragrances tested by me have this quality.
SLC is supposed to be a fragrance twin to Juicy Couture's "Viva La Juicy Sucré", which can be found online partout no longer at acceptable prices, because it is no longer produced. Fortunately, I was able to get hold of an empty 50ml bottle of Sucré via Ebay that still has some scent left. Great similarities are definitely there on a cursory residual sniff, except that the Sucré seems much creamier. (It's okay though, I'll get over that pain with VLJ Sucré eventually. Someday. Maybe.)
Anyway, I'm very happy with Ariana Grande's alternative.
I can see a clear similarity to various Victoria's Secret fragrances; they definitely have a comparable vibe, here at Parfumo I think they call it "DNA". From the fragrance components as well as the seduction potential, there are definitely similarities.
Apparently the SLC is a scent that men might notice, because I got a compliment from someone who is generally VERY sparing with adulation. His, "Mhhh... What smells so good on you? What is that perfume? Riiiiiiiighty good..." was kind of an accolade for me.
In conclusion, SLC is my favorite Ariana scent and clearly up to this point my holy grail as far as sweet scents go.
