Deep Ocean closely akin to Earthy Forest
Deep Ocean is a non-linear fresh scent that evolves through a Hesperides, woody, and musky path. I blind bought this cologne after buying the fabulous Aromatic winter brother. It opens up a bit boozy and citrus, and the alcohol takes quite a few seconds to evaporate, revealing the tartness of bergamot peel and lemon leaves. The bitterness of the galbanum enriches this blast of zestiness with its earthy and forest-like facets.

The heart starts beating with a fragrant and green accord, and now the galbanum has an intense green tone with woody and balsamic elements, generously rich, spicy, and green. There is even an aromatic side due to the presence of the clary sage with its herbal smell in between sweet and bittersweet, with nuances of amber, kind of like hay, and freshly crushed tobacco leaves. The heart is slightly aquatic, reminiscent of fresh seawater yet without the "sea breeze" intense vibe of the calone. Interesting to note, perfumers ordinarily use galbanum both as a strong top note in green fragrances and as a base note in combination with musk and chypre elements such as oak moss and pine, whereas here is injected in the heart. Last but not least, the lavender is not outstanding and plays its role in the background, not so flaunted as in Cool Water by Davidoff, for instance.

Then comes the dry down, a massive, full-bodied, powdery and warm touch of amber combined with the smelling-sweet flowers of hawthorn, frequently suggestive of sex. The dry down is not only that sweet and arousal, but there is also a tad of earthy and mossy oak evocative of bark, seacoast, and foliage.

In my opinion, this is an underrated men's cologne that worth it a try. Have you seen the bottle? Deep Ocean is nothing but a blue shaded and transparent glass with a dark blue cap and a handy shape, pleasant to keep in your hand, and the sprayer is full and generous. The sillage and the projection are moderate, whereas the longevity sits in between average and above. Deep Ocean is an excellent companion for office weekday and leisure weekend, being the day and afternoon the more appropriate wearing time, on a warm and cruel hot summer.

Although named Deep Ocean, the aquatic note is unnoticeable. Rather, the galbanum bitterness gives it a forest-like accord as a Deep Forest!
