Seriously - I think it is actually silly to explicitly state that the cherry blossom comes from South Korea, the incense from Uzbekistan or the lemon from Sicily. But, about New Caledonian sandalwood I recently saw a very interesting documentary and that Jinhae is a province in South Korea that celebrates the cherry blossom season as much as Japan, I didn't know that yet either. So I'm assuming that the ingredients have actually traveled halfway around the world and weren't created in the laboratory, e.g. in Holzminden. Yeah, it's not the first time I've learned Parfumo.

Apart from that, I experience the fragrance seriously, but very subtly, finely, and for my sensation calming. I can feel an Asian atmosphere and spontaneously look for a teen note in the pyramid. In any case, the scent reminds me more of a tea ceremony than of rites in which incense plays a role. If I perceive incense, then perhaps the still unburned resin grains, clean, cool and without real smoke.

Encens Jinhae won't enrapture anyone to storms of enthusiasm, won't cause any smashed sheets and won't turn me into a diva either. But on days when you just want to smell "simple", well-groomed, reserved, self-sufficient and don't have to pay attention, I'd love to grab that perfume. Yes, I like it very much, especially since many of the perfumes that are currently highly praised simply get on my nerves.

I am also surprised to discover that I have never consciously noticed the perfumer Jerome Epinette before. But some of his creations I like very much and so I will dedicate myself more intensively to his work in the near future. He obviously knows how to create portable, unsweet and yet interesting perfumes. I already put Encens Jinhae on my wish list.
