Confused...
What can I say about Outspoken? Lots of things; which surprised me as I expected this to be another heavy, cheap smelling Avon perfume. Besides the fact that it’s backed by a celebrity synched my negative predisposition about this perfume.

Boy was I wrong!

Is this another sweet celebrity scent? Yes and No.

The red berries in the top notes and the leathery bottom notes are beautifully held together by the tuberose. I don’t even care for leather tones on me and yet... this is the first perfume I will wear that has those dark leathery tones (and vetiver to boot!) because it is accented by wonderful dark and icy berries that are warmed up by the tuberose, creating a juxtaposition to die for. All the other notes play supporting roles here. Berry, tuberose, and leather run the show, so to speak. On my skin, the berries and tuberose shine, leaving the ebony character of the scent dancing under covers to a rock & roll tune. No femme fatale quality to it as most people hoped it would. Which is great for me since I wouldn't want to walk around smelling like someone I'm not. I think this is what I had hoped Avril Lavigne's Black Star would smell like. Sweet... but with an edgy kick to it.

Projection is good but the sillage is medium. Staying power leaves something to be desired.

Not as outrageous as I would have liked
I quite like Fergie as a celebrity. I find her strangely beautiful with her almost alien features and raspy voice. I was intrigued to see whether Outspoken captured the type of person I saw her as being.

First off, I could smell the blackcurrant clearly when I first applied this fragrance to my wrist. It had that dark, rich and jammy quality that was indeed very bold and sensual. The heart wanted to be soft, feminine and flowery, however the jasmine and tuberose surprisingly didn't appear to be as creamy and ethereal as those notes often are. I think the saffron and woodsy notes kept the white floral accords grounded.

After a while the scent turned rather sweet, but not gooey thankfully. The Avon powderiness did emerge towards the drydown, however it didn't make this fragrance smell too mature. I would have honestly liked to have smelt more of the leather in the base, but the leather and vetiver were rather subtle.

I may have perhaps preferred a richer oriental to be the fragrance behind Fergie's name, however from what I've experienced and worn for several hours, has left me somewhat in agreement with this fragrance. Outspoken is really not that bad at all.

A Younger Version of Amarige
Is it me or Outspoken and Givenchy's Amariage smells the same to me? they both
have an an Acidic sweetness base in both
perfumes i think is the pervasive amount of Tuberose of each Fragrances Amariage
has a more of an sour tangy tinges and with more of an use of an woody drydown.

the opening begins with an Tuberose effect mellows out with the presence
of Black currents and crisp textures
of Starfruit. the drydown is bit elusive
Passion flower with it's beautiful foliage adds to the beauty Jasmine and
me is like finding a needle in a haystack if it's mingling with the other
notes but as a single note yes it's easier to find.

There is very little or no Leather scent
but the thought of it make it more sexy
and yes indeed it is a sexy perfume
but the silage is not long lasting compared to Amariage so you need to apply a few times but it's well worth it.

Amarige is a Older refined Sophisticated
Mature and more mannered Sister to Outspoken which is as the description
reads it Younger Edgier daring darker
and aimed for the younger crowd, but when these come together they make an
unlikely bedfellows.

tame tuberose
Based on the in-your-face persona of Fergie, I expected this to be a very edgy scent- but instead, I found it to be a very lady-like and wearable tuberose with a tinge of deep fruit

I prefer it to the Intense flanker, which actually has much less presence, ironically-
