Delicate beauty
I ordered the Bois d'Orient for testing, together with other bottlings from Perfums Bachs, as I was very interested in how non-fragrances can be offered at such affordable prices In addition to perfumes, the company now offers other cosmetic products such as deodorant and candles. I don't know if that's why they are considered "niche", but what I do know is that their fragrances smell like niche.
Immediately after spraying, I perceive a wonderful velvety note, slightly powdery and fruity sweet. You can immediately smell that the fragrance is of high quality, because the smell is soft and very pleasantly pampering for the nose, there is this silent moment when our mind stops chattering and our nose is occupied with the beauty of the fragrance... At this moment, I am literally at a loss for words, but this usually happens to me with more expensive fragrances and rarely with fragrances where the price per liter is less than 300 euros After that, the fruity sweetness becomes more intense, not overly sweet or sugary, but a fruity, gentle sweetness. I detect spices and a nice peppery note, but nothing stands out. A glance at the pyramid tells me that there are no fruits in sight but probably cardamom, an ingredient that I almost always smell and don't like too much. I can't detect the cardamom directly, but the scent reminds me of another cardamom-heavy fig fragrance, Gris Charnel Eau de Parfum Yes, there must be a fruit in it, possibly actually fig, which, together with the cardamom, reminds me of the sweetness of the more expensive companion.
After about 30 minutes to an hour, I start to notice leather. It is a soft, warm leather, the kind of leather that smells masculine on a man and more feminine on a woman.
For me, this fragrance is therefore absolutely wearable by both sexes and also for all ages as its price makes it accessible to young people.
The finish is vanilla-leathery, soft and beautiful, unfortunately only very short, because after about 2 hours my nose can only perceive the scent very close to the skin.
All in all, a wonderfully high-quality fragrance that deserves more attention. I would actually be interested to see how the fragrance would develop after a few months or even a year of maturation, I can well imagine that it would become more and more dense and present with time and would perform very well after one or more years of maturation. For this reason, and because this little treasure really deserves it, I'm going to get myself a bottle.
This fragrance is not for people who want their scent to be noticed immediately. It is an accompanying fragrance that gently surrounds you and leaves behind a small, pleasant cloud of scent. The Bois d'Orient can also be worn very well on days when you only want to wear a certain fragrance for a few hours and want to wear something else fragrant for the other part of the day. For example, I go shopping on a Saturday morning and wear it, by the evening it's gone and I put on an Angélique Noire or something similar for the salsa evening. That way I can imagine it perfectly :)
But what about you? Do you know the fragrance or can you even tell us if it has performed better on you?
Thank you for reading my review, best regards
Christianne
